When you want to recruit the whole game...
Sender: Ichiban Kasuga (and Zhao)
To: Everyone
Subject: Party Recruitment
[Zhao is just sitting back, amused at how enthusiastic Kasuga is at the chance to address everyone in town. After testing it out and showing his friend how it works, he decides to let Kasuga declare himself to the masses for maximum hilarity.]
[Ichiban had, for his part, been working hard on making a proper introduction. After all, first impressions could not be taken back and he would make sure they knew who he was..for better or for worse.
Before words even appeared in their books, an image would materialize, a drawing of a man porting an ugly shirt (although if asked, he would say it was not ugly at all and quite badass) that he'd been gifted with like many others.
Even if the drawing was crude and looked more like a teenager had attempted to draw something, there was a level of careful effort. It was his crude drawing, dammit! There was also an arrow pointing to him with his name. Just in case.]
Hello. Name's Ichiban Kasuga. 42 years old. Like all of you I was called here to help, and I'm excited to be here! Oh and my friend Zhao has been here longer than me, so if you've met him, then I'm from the same world! If you haven't met him, shit you guys are seriously missing out. Especially his cooking, he'll will make the most amazing Chinese dishes that will make your mouth water just thinking about them.
[There's a slight pause because he's getting distracted, but, really Ichiban would high-praise his friends to the moon if given the chance. For his part, Zhao tells him thank you for the compliment but to stay on task.]
So I've been asked by Santa's Helper to gift someone who is a gamer and anime enthusiast. Which is great because I know what I could give him...if I was back home. Right now I'm kinda broke? Can you really be broke here? Point is, I need a job. Or many jobs. Hell this kinda reminds me back home when we ended up at a job center and...you know what long story short is, I'll take any job, I'm hard working and I'll make sure whatever you need done gets done! Zhao too! At least I think? Hey Zhao do you need wor
[The text breaks off in part because he is asking the person in question only to return a few minutes later. Mostly because Zhao reminds him that this isn't a video and you can't just stop in the middle or edit things out once they're there.]
Yeah count Zhao in this too! Shit this is getting long, so anyone know the anime or video game equivalent in this world and where can I get some, also and SUPER importantly, there's just a little more to discuss if I still have your attention!
[Has he lost them? Is it too late? Better step it up with a drawing of him in armor!]
What. [Says a message coming from Zhao before forgetting how this worked.]
Speaking about Video Games, do your worlds have Dragon Quest? If not they are RPGs...Role Playing Games where you control party members as they go and save the world. You know, standard hero stuff. That series is the best!
[And now here's him in that armor fighting a dragon]
It's taught me many things but the most important one is that even if you play the main hero, a hero is jack shit without their 'party members'...their friends!
[And now here's the entire party fighting the dragon together that, at least for Zhao, would look suspiciously like his six friends.]
That's what I wanted to ask all of you. I'm looking to start a party to aid this world and we could use all the help we can get! This of the benefits! Zhao would cook for you too! There's no party member we won't accept, after all a good party is made up of many types of members from healers to fighters to clerics and monks!
[Here's a drawing of Zhao cooking food with a generic nameless figure, a 'mouth' open on the side like Pacman with an arrow pointing to the food and the word "Yum". Sorry Zhao, love Ichiban.]
Kasuga-kun what the hell was that.
I promise you won't regret it! Thank you very much!
[There's a drawing of...a thumbs up? Guess it's finally over.]
((OOC: Please specify whether you would like to talk to Zhao, Ichiban or both!))

Both!
I bring damage-dealing and light support should you have need of a little hybrid. My white mage and warrior job crystals are sadly missing, or I'd be something of an all-rounder for any adventuring group. Maybe I can dreamotion something! We'll see.
I'd seen the job board but never thought to take up any of the tasks. Were there any you were looking at?
no subject
[He is both awed and slightly jealous.]
Dude that is so badass, of course we'd want you!
And uh...pretty much everything? I ain't a picky guy to be honest.
no subject
I, too, am not particularly picky. But why don't we see how the party goes before making a decision?
Until then, I'd be happy to demonstrate my skills if need be... well... as far as I can make those two jobs happen without the appropriate stone. But I am a Dancer, at least.
no subject
Aw, but you said you need a crystal to do that? Shit. The guy that usually heals us isn't here at the moment, but Kasuga-kun would welcome anyone that can kick some ass.
I'm pretty sure we aren't picky about jobs. If we can do them, we'll take them.
no subject
Your friend said the same thing. But I wonder- with a party gathering, perhaps there is a big target that needs thwomping. But my specialty is in taking multiple foes at once, so anything involving crowds of baddies are deftly handled enough.
no subject
[He is low-key...okay high-key fanboying at the idea.]
Sounds like a good idea. Also one of the charatcers in Dragon Quest 4 was a dancer and she was pretty badass. She had a spell to turn into a dragon! Not that uh, I'm expecting the same thing, mind you. If you're more the type to spin-kick a person to music than that sounds cool too.
no subject
Me and my chakrams are at your beck and call. I trust you would be the "tank" in this situation, Ser Kasuga?
no subject
Kasuga-kun would make the final call, but I don't see why he wouldn't want you to join us. I'm Zhao, the one he mentioned in his call out.
no subject
Kasuga and Zhao. Got it. I'm Madhuri. What on earth gets you both swarmed back home, if I may ask?
no subject
[He hadn't meant to write that but you know, his hands are faster than his brain at times.]
Tank? Do you meant like an army tank?
[He was put into prison before MMOs became a big deal. It's probably for the best, really.]
no subject
Seems like any time we want to go anywhere, there's always at least three guys who object to our crew existing so we get into a little scuffle. Now, I'm pretty sure Kasuga-kun imagines it being way more than it is, but it's mostly drunk guys and random assholes who have nothing better to do than to pick a fight.
I've been here long enough to know that there's actual crazy fantasy bullshit monsters from some other places. We don't have those where we're from, but we can learn how to take them.]
no subject
It's an effective system back in my home world, teams of four taking on expeditions in some old ruins and what-have-you.
no subject
[Bruh.]
I guess I'm like that? I think my friend Adachi-san would be more the real tank of the party, I'm more a little of everything, if that makes sense. Uh I think some games called that a Red Mage? Or a blue mage? I was never good with the colors.
[And they weren't Dragon Quest games, so they got a lot less attention.]
I guess I sort of fancied myself the "Hero" class. Lots of hitting and attack power, but I have a abilities to get others pumped up and help someone if he's down. In video game terms, like anyway.
no subject
Ah, so let's see, you would make a keen paladin. The paladins I know put up their shields for cover and their power becomes like wings to guard their parties from harm. It's a wonder to behold.
Actually, dreamotion can make anything possible. I wonder if I could teach you some things? What's your ideal weapon?
no subject
But that's the spirit! What better way to grow stronger than by tackling crazy fantasy bullshit monsters from other places? I'd be happy to provide a few.

I just have to think of some real good places. Gridania's Twelvewood has plenty of mean beasties, or maybe a few primals might grease the axles. Then you can cross 'battled gods' off your bucket list.
no subject
If you're doing that much to help train us, then I'd be more than glad to make a really good meal for us all. That might be really good training for the kid who lives here too. He has very specific powers and he needs scenarios in order to practice them out.

[As much as he loves where he's living now, well, he wouldn't mind staying there for a bit. The paladin part has him nodding along - that sort of makes sense and he would certainly DIE FOR HIS FRIENDS(tm).]
You'd be willing to teach me stuff? Hell yeah I'm in. I use a baseball bat. I guess it's sort of like a swing club or sword.
