I thought at first to write in a rather sad and sorry manner, but I decided I don't want to do any of that and instead focus on positivity.

That moon is dreadfully late, isn't it? Tsk tsk. Should anyone find that pesky silver ball, give it a sound scolding for me, would you? I'll step in line behind you and remind it of a few dream-related annoyances I've had of late.

Well. Not all were annoyances. But if you know what I mean, I'll ask you kindly not to make mention of it. I've embarrassed him enough.

ANYWAY, the point of my entry is that I am more than a little concerned with the dreadful dreams I've had flash over the lantern. Thus I offer a service: The Kriegstanz, a specialized dance that draws upon those pesky negative emotions and manifests them into something whose butt I can give my heel. My whole heel. The nastier the thoughts, the tougher the beast.

So while I have volunteered to dance in the square throughout the days until conditions improve and invite you all to bear witness so that I may give you a hand (I'm the one in the horns and a black tail, but I dare say I'm hard to miss even without those features ❤ )... I may need some experienced fighters to back me up on the butt-heeling portion. Sers Zhao and Kasuga, this'll be your big shot. But the more, the merrier.

Heck, I'll bring snacks. It'll be fun. What do you all say?

You know as much as I do. I'd thought the shadowed moon would reveal itself, but no matter how much searching I do, it's gone.

I wonder how the night's creatures are doing without their guiding light. Even in a dream world, it can't possibly be good.

I mean to say, I agree with your sentiment. Though I have to ask who or what would manage to steal something as large as this world's answer to the Earth's moon right under our noses. Seems incredibly difficult, even in a world such as this.

Seems too above and beyond to be one of us, too. I don't recall seeing or hearing anything odd, either...

I wonder if our foray into Whoville was a distraction.

We can't confirm or deny that, but perhaps whatever's been messing with the dreams may also have caused a disturbance in that graveyard dreamscape I mentioned.

I don't recall the nature of it entirely, but I think I was fending off goblins with a close friend of mine?

Good to know. I don't think anyone managed to catch a glimpse of who might have orchestrated that, did they? I've found that, even in my own dreams, I show up in some fashion.

No, nor did we ever see that Grinch fellow if I'm not mistaken. Perhaps dreamscapes are a bit different than normal dreams in that regard?

Makes sense. What is the Grinch anyway? I'm told it's a story, but no such thing exists at home.

Well that's rude. What's his problem with the holiday? He could always do something else with his Starlight season instead of ruining the enjoyment of others'.

Though, now that you bring it up, I can't help but be curious about your holiday traditions. They seem similar enough to Christmas, as far as I am aware, but am I right to assume the mythology behind the celebration is different?

It is. It's based on an old story from the holy see of Ishgard. The orphaned children from the Dragonsong War were given gifts by the Ishgardian soldiers dressed in red, and when they grew, they paid the kindness forward to the next generation of kids in need.

So it was that, during the coldest time of the year, many turn to one another and give, spreading good will to all.
