I don't care whether or not you apologize to Santa Claus. If you can manage it, I know it'll only be so you can make sure you're on the "nice list" or whatever. But knowing you, even if you're on the nice list, you'll last for maybe a day or two.

So, in short - it's a waste of time no matter what.
