hey, did you guys notice the huge fruit tree that showed up near the new ocean? it's got big giant yellow star-shaped fruits growing from it that are called paopu fruit. they taste like a pineapple mixed with a pear. sounds pretty tasty, right?

there's also a legend back home about these fruits. i thought you might wanna know.

i've always liked that legend a lot. i don't know if it's true for sure but it's nice to think that if you share one with someone really special to you that you can always be a part of each other's lives. if that doesn't sound like love, i don't know what is. it might be nice to try it with someone sometime, huh? go for it!

yeah, she's not here but it still feels like my heart is closer to her this way. i want to think that the paopu fruit helped with that. i also shared it with someone really important to me here too.

that was the story people always shared on my island. i mean there were some other ones too like how if you stuck your toes in the ocean after dark that mermaids would eat you but i think that one was the adults trying to scare us

I am not a particularly sentimental person, so my answer is not an informed one, really. For your sake, however, I hope you get to see them sooner rather than later. I suspect if they are your friends, they are likely thinking of you with the same determination.

As for mermaids, I think I am more frightening than anything one will find in the ocean.

I have never considered being ‘frightening’ to be a terrible thing. I rather like it when people fear me. It can be easier to protect others when one has that reputation. You simply do not think me so because I look after you as well.

I have rather thought I was bit terse with you. Sometimes I think I forget that my youth was a great deal different from that of others. I have not always been considerate or as sensitive as I likely ought to be. In saying that, I am not insisting I will be changing. Only that I can acknowledge it.

i grew up with some friends that were pretty had on me because they love me so i think i can tell when someone means well. or at least i hope i can.
