hey, did you guys notice the huge fruit tree that showed up near the new ocean? it's got big giant yellow star-shaped fruits growing from it that are called paopu fruit. they taste like a pineapple mixed with a pear. sounds pretty tasty, right?

there's also a legend back home about these fruits. i thought you might wanna know.

i've always liked that legend a lot. i don't know if it's true for sure but it's nice to think that if you share one with someone really special to you that you can always be a part of each other's lives. if that doesn't sound like love, i don't know what is. it might be nice to try it with someone sometime, huh? go for it!

The origin point of the legend could have been something as simple as 'two people had a date one time underneath some kind of fruit tree'. Not even this kind of fruit tree, it could've been an apple tree for all you know, and people remember the one you're talking about because the fruit is visually striking.

It could even be, and this is what I'm betting on, some high schooler made it up entirely. It sounds asinine enough to be so.

There was a rumor going around a few years ago that if you looked into an unplugged television on a rainy night at midnight you'd see your soulmate or some shit. The vast majority of rumors and legends were either pulled out of someone's ass or else have mutated so far as to be completely unrecognizable from the event that spawned them.

Nevermind that the notion of 'destiny' is inherently stupid.
