Subject: A Method to Stay in This World

As everyone should know, the version of ourselves in this world is wholly separate from our originals that remain awake in our home worlds. What we do here has no effect there, and vice versa. Most won't care whether they are here for a temporary stay, however there are those like me and Tifa who have formed relationships that would be impossible if not for this world.

And I am determined to make it last.

When the Halloween Carnival arrived last October, we had the opportunity to speak to the tapirs and inquire about the nature of our existence here. In short, we are tethered to our home world which allows us to return, currently at random. However, the fae, creatures, and every other being that is not a dreamer like ourselves do not have such tethers. They either traversed into this world or were directly taken through other means.

This leads to the conclusion that if we want to stay in this world, we need to somehow break the connection, either by completely severing it or changing the tether to connect to this world instead. Perhaps we need to completely change the nature of our current "dream self." As the risk of being sent back is high if the tether is cut, I aim to focus on other means.

However, there is of course no known knowledge or means to do this, and the tapirs do not know, either. Thus I am sending this inquiry to:

1) ask if there are any others who would be interested either to help or in the results;

2) if there is anyone who is familiar with dimensional travel or strong magic that could give some clue as to what to look for.

Currently I am looking through the Tree of Stories to find any text or story that could be of use. My current suspicion is dreamotion will be the main component, however manipulating it for such a use will be difficult.

It's crazy how places like this can bring people together. [like how he's gotten close to a thirteenth prince who once attempted murder, and is friends with dog people, demons, and people made of darkness!]

I'm hurting my friends back home, and I don't mean passively or metaphorically. It's complicated, but it's mostly my fault. I don't know how to fix it or if I'd even have a chance, at this point.

Yes. Which is why pure dreamotion would be a better option, using exoflection as a starting point for the process itself. That way anyone capable of wielding suitable control over dreamotion would be able to utilize it, though it may require practice in order to do so.

Given the fact that exoflection and dreamotion already have similarities, it seems like a logical place to start.

So let me see if I understand you correctly. The purpose of this would be to change the properties of our current forms so that they conform to fit in this world? Basically becoming more "real" as opposed to being made of dream energy as we are now.

To make us residents of this world instead of outsiders, in other words. If we're able to do that, it's possible that that alone may be enough to change where the tether connects.

It's not unlike the process when parts of other worlds are brought into my own.

I suppose such things cannot be concretely investigated over a short period of time. I suppose we are both seeking leads with which to investigate and produce visible results.

Good afternoon, Eustace! [ Lyria chimes as she enters the room fully at this point... and behold! She is wearing a brand new outfit, complete with a large brown satchel strapped across her chest and yes she is wearing shoes. She had only been living with him for a few days now but everything was slowly becoming more and more familiar to her. This is a place she could call home, and somewhere that Eustace wanted to call home forever.

She took a moment then to glance around the room; the simple decorations, plates he and Tifa had likely bought together, and even the extension he added to the house. Small but noticeable additions the two worked on to really make this place their own. Their home.

It was obvious to her why he wanted to stay. ]

Makes sense. At least it seems you've been thinking heavily about it. Forgive me for the question, it's just that I've dealt with so many kids who do things 'because it feels right' and this feels like it's rather important for everyone.

I'd start with talking with the population there, what they might be wanting in general. Could be as easy as growing crops there or helping to build new buildings and structures.

[Or you know, set a catastrophic event to the island and come save the day. Playing hero goes far if you don't get caught.]

Even if they can take care of themselves, surely they will miss you for more than just your martial prowess. Shouldn't you at least talk this over with them? This is such a big decision to make all on your own.

On the other side of that, what if we checked in with people from the same worlds? People can come from different times, right? Maybe if they know each other and their times are separate, they can tell us if something odd occurred.

Everyone should know..? What are you basing your assumption on exactly?

Even if this is all taking place in the recesses of our minds, attempting to do what you propose could cause irreparable damage to "both versions".. as you put it. If it was true that we exist separately, then how would we even be aware of our former existence and experiences and why would you need to sever this theoretical connection at all?

Something like this requires time, and extensive research.. which .. unfortunately, I've had plenty of both.

And it's only been a year, with people coming and going, though it seems the town has been gaining more people than losing. But there seems to be a clear difference between us and those who are already part of this world. The Flowers, for instance. The pups have clearly aged. But I don't know what their natural lifespan is.

We'll have to try and study how creatures and beings work in this world as well.
