Subject: Pride Month.

so... I know this is probably an akward time. but is there a pride month here? I figure Id ask since so many of us are from some version of earth.

I was looking forward to going to the one in New York City. it was supposed to be my first since you kno coming out.

just thoght Id ask.

Oh, also. I can preform any funeral rites needed. Im sorta a priest in that respect. I take last rites very seriously and will do my best to honor their beliefs.

[Oh boy. He underestimated how many people didn't know what pride was.]

it sorta is. like, theres a parade and food and stuff for a weekend. the rest of the month is supposed to be about the history of how far lgbt+ peoples have come to recognized as 'not wrong'

[ See, most of those words made sense... until he got to the acronym at least. He can get that this is something to celebrate a marginalized group, but he's unfamiliar with the specific terminology here. ]

I don't know that acronym, but it sounds like a good cause.

It stands for lesbian gay bi and trans plus. like asexual, questioning and intersexed.

Im gay.

[ See, those are words he knows, though he had never heard them until coming to the dream world. His society just doesn't place much if any emphasis on orientation, so it's a bit strange to even have words for it. ]

If there's something all societies have in common, it's designating one group or another as the outsider. I haven't seen as much of that in this dream world, but that isn't to say it doesn't happen.

Are you wanting to put something together for it?

[Nico doesn't answer for a moment. Because he's felt like an outsider all his life. Nerd. Born in another century. Son of a Chthonic god surrounded by Olympians, and his father, in particular, being one of the most feared, despite his Olympian origins, hated by his own family. Necromancer. Gay.]

Ive seen that first hand.

[ They have that in common--not all of the same issues, of course, but Asura can relate to being the "other" owing to the circumstances of his birth. ]

If it's important to you, I can't think of any reason why not. You could probably get a few people to help you with it if you asked.
