There's a breed that looks like a hotdog?

Wait, let me make sure I got the image right in my head. A hotdog is...something like this?

[It's a very crude drawing where the sausage is pretty much right since you can't really draw those wrong, but the bun? He's a bit off...or a lot off. He has the sausage between two slices of bread like a sandwich.]

Hah! I see it! So at least according to one story, it was just a joke based off this breed of dogs.

Now I have to ask why they even look like that.

Selective breeding? I think they were initially intended to chase rodents down holes.

We don't really have much of that where I'm from, so a bit weird to see.

Dogs in general, or this kind of dog specifically?

Specifically. We have dogs, but they're kind of... You either have the wild ones, which are cool. And there are the working ones for farms or hunting which can be respectable for their work.

But then there are some that are definitely more like pets. Maybe we have the breed and I've just never seen it, but I think it's only the nobles who are into the whole "breed" and "pedigree" thing.

That's fair. People have domesticated dogs for a very long time where I'm from, but you're right - it tended to only be nobles who cared about breeds. It's only in more modern times when nobility is mostly a thing of the past where people care more about it.
