Still, you should take heart. That your family from one timeline has mended things with you is surely a sign that your relationship is reparable in your own.

I'd like him to see sense, I really would.
all the encouragement here
[At least, that is how Erichthonios interprets the words thus far exchanged between them.]
The foundation is there. All that remains is to build upon it.
why is he so cute uwu
But perhaps there's a chance things can turn out all right in my world. It's... complicated, but whose world isn't?
He's a sad boy with a messed up upbringing who doesn't like to see others suffer
[Even if that complication ends up being a god. Or mayhap especially when that complication ends up being a god.]
canon is not kind to him ;; erich deserves so much better
The question is whether he - or his new master - will want it as well.
But there's little harm in trying at this point, now that the situation has changed.

Mayhap your kin from the parallel timeline can provide you with guidance on the matter.
Either way, I wish you well, as ever.

I appreciate it, though. There's not all that many who care for people who are near-strangers.

[Erichthonios... may have been somewhat socially isolated growing up, due to the actions of certain persons. So he genuinely doesn't know.]
no subject
Not really, no. Most people tend to care for those immediately around them - friends, family, and themselves. That's not to say that people don't help strangers, but it's more unusual to see than simply passing them by.

[A pause.]
complicated.
The friends I speak of aided me as strangers during a time of great turmoil for me.

But it's good that you had people help you. It's not like I'm saying it's a bad thing, just... unusual. So it makes those that would help all the more different.

Would that they were here with me, but whatever it is that has grasped a part of us appears to have not taken hold of them.

My thanks for your kind words.

Of course. There's much to this place - it holds many mysteries for us to discover. Including how people are drawn here, and who's chosen.

... I only have myself to blame on that one, in retrospect.

[Maybe the cousin likes verbal banter?]

I think it's how he shows he cares. Probably again, my fault. But I'm sure he's picked up several bad habits from me.
