S'mores! And a Request

Subject: S'mores! And a Request

Hello, everyone!

Since there are so many new dreamwalkers who've just arrived, I thought it might be nice to encourage everyone to get together and meet! There is a communal firepit in a clearing just outside of the residential area where I've got a fire going, and I have plenty of supplies to make "s'mores," which I only just learned about recently. (Thank you, Miss Tifa!) If you haven't had this before, please come and try it, it's delicious!

Additionally, I have a request for everyone to please keep an eye out for a few individuals... I realize that this may be in vain since their names did not appear in the directory, but just in case...
Colin
He is a tall, half-elven man with long, dark hair. He is very charismatic and funny and likely to be found busking with his lute somewhere or telling stories!

Aerie
Also tall, but fully an elf, very pretty and intelligent, also with dark hair (but not related to Colin!). She usually has three wolves with her. Extremely competent hunter!

Mellon
Also tall, also fully an elf, he usually does not wear a shirt. He loves to drink and might try to clear out any supply of alcohol... Please do not get into a tavern brawl with him.

Dae
Also tall, and also fully an elf, with white hair and red eyes. He is very good at magic and possibly would want to spar with you! Would likely have an owl familiar with him.

Cibark
Even taller and very very strong! He is a half-orc with green skin and usually wears armor and wields large weapons. He has a very dashing and heroic aura about him!

Sian
Not tall! They usually wear a cloak and a mask. Usually quiet but very sassy. They might be flying around, but they also don't usually remember that they can do that.

[ Ori why are you always surrounded by tall people ]

If at any point in the future you come across anybody who seems to fit these descriptions, please let me know!

(( ooc: Naturally open to these moving into or starting as an action thread! Come get s'mores! Or not. I can't tell you what to do. ))

I think it would. Not sure what he'd think of the s'mores themselves, since he's not always big on sweet things, but whatever. Wouldn't be the first time I stole dessert off his plate.

[She grins widely, although after a few moments her expression turns a bit wistful.]

I miss him. I miss everyone back in Fódlan. I even miss the incessant letters from my brother, if you'll believe it. Hard to believe I've been here for half a year now...

Don't get me wrong--there's a lot here that I really love, and I've met some great people. But missing home is pretty normal, I think.

[Hilda's expression warms at Ori's words, and she sways slightly in order to give her friend an affectionate bump of her shoulder.]

I'm glad I got to meet you, too. I've made some really, really great friends like you here.

[She sips her tea and brightens up.]

If we can't bring our friends from home here, at least we can imagine what it'd be like for them if they did? Think of it as a fun thought exercise. [And a way to lighten the mood and keep things from getting too sappy.] Especially those people who would freak out. Are any of your friends the fussy type who would have a conniption fit about sleeping in a tree?

[Hilda wrinkles her nose at that last bit. Sleeping on the ground or in a hole-in-the-wall kind of place? Not her thing, sorry Ori.]

I forgot you do all that traveling and adventuring stuff. Yeah, the treehouses would probably be a huge upgrade compared to that.

[The moment of distaste quickly passes, and she's back to smiling and thinking.]

For a lot of my friends this place would be a definite downgrade from what they're used to. There are some who'd love it because it's so close to nature, like Marianne, or wouldn't care about the conditions, like Leonie or Raphael. But for most of us? It takes some getting used to. I certainly wasn't on board when I first got here.

But I'm pretty sure that one of my classmates, Lorenz, would straight up keel over if someone told him he'd have to live in a tree. "It is not proper for a noble such as myself to live in such unrefined accommodations. I shall tell my father about this!"

[Her impression of him is not what one would call "flattering."]

Yeah, it is pretty prestigious. Most of the students come from noble houses, although commoners who can raise the funds or get a sponsorship also attend. It's supposed to train us to be better leaders or whatever. Kind of wish it wasn't a military thing, because ugh all the fighting, but I guess that's important for us to know too.

[What with all the bandits in Fódlan and all. Fire Emblem games love their bandits]

But school isn't everything. You have so much more freedom than I do, being able to travel with your party and all that. I'm sure it hasn't been all good times, but part of me kind of envies that.

In any case, now that the giant bugs have been pushed out I have to admit that the treehouses are nice and cozy. And of course I decorated it--this is me we're talking about.
