[After about a day or two of dealing with the entire town changing suddenly and a little bit of anxiety regarding the following subject...]

So this is the second time I've found somebody in a dead sleep I can't get them out of, and I was wondering if anybody else has seen it happen? It doesn't seem like it hurts them or they need anything special, but it can be kind of alarming to come visit a friend and they're just lying there and won't wake up for days. For the record, the last time it happened, my friend came out of it fine as far as I know, but she's not here anymore, so I can't ask her more about it.

[It's probably a good thing he already went through this or the panic might have had... a very bad effect on him, as he is now. Anyway...!]

I guess if anybody needs Prince Hans, they'll have to take a rain check. I can take any messages for him.

And if someone could let me know how to take care of a horse, that would be great. I'd like him to not have to worry about his poor animal when he wakes up.

I haven't heard of anything, so I'll be curious if others have. How long has he been asleep?

As for Sitron, you could ask some of the farmers for stable lodging... If you're uncertain which ones are originals and not from the dreamshift, I could show you a ranch that recently acquired some wild horses.

I suppose since we're essentially dreaming ourselves it shouldn't matter too much.

[It's always weird and easy to forget that they aren't actually their full person. They can eat and drink, get injured and potentially die, yet it's still in the context of a "dream" somehow...]

But keep an eye on his vitals just in case. Have you tried to see if you can enter his dreams?

Of course. It's been several hours with no change, at least, and I'll be staying to make sure it's the same as last time. The dreaming thing doesn't work.

[Has he actually tried, though, with his aversion to dreamotion? He'll never tell.]

Maybe a couple hours from now. I want to make sure I reply to everybody who might be concerned before we head out.

[He'll draw Eustace a simple map to Hans's place, because it's not like he cares if the guy knows where Hans lives. :)]

I was not familiar with such a happenstance occurring. This is particularly useful information to have and warrants some additional investigation as to longevity, and the status of Prince Hans during this time. I will be most interested to hear of his condition as time proceeds.

I have no knowledge on horses. I will not be able to assist on that front.

The last time I saw it happen, it lasted a few weeks. Obviously when people normally sleep that long, they need like, medical intervention, but it ended up she didn't need anything? I'm sure there's dream magic involved or whatever, like those fairy tales about sleeping princesses where they wake up just fine.

Feel free to check in whenever. I'll be keeping a close eye on him, and I know there are some doctors in town if he ends up needing that.

These are not our physical bodies, so I don't see an issue. Maybe he'll be very rested when he wakes up. His dream lantern wasn't active, was it?

Sure, but we can get hurt and need food and drink here for the most part, so it makes sense to be a little cautious. Hopefully you're right, though.

It's unfortunate that there's no hospital around to monitor him throughout the day.

Do you know if anything happened to him before this change?

There is a clinic, but I wouldn't want to take up their time with that if it's something I can do myself.

Not that I know of. It was the same with my other friend. I talked to them one day, and a few days later it's like this.

I'm afraid this is the first I've heard of such a phenomenon as well. I must say, even if your other friend awoke just fine, I find this rather concerning.

Does Prince Hans live alone?

He does, aside from his horse. [Sadly, though, Sitron has no thumbs.] But I'll be staying with him until he wakes up. You help with the clinic here, right?

Indeed, I do. If you'd prefer to leave Prince Hans in our care, that is an option as well. Both Dr. Mathis and I spend quite a bit of time in the clinic on a daily basis. It wouldn't be a problem for us to monitor his condition. If nothing else, one of us may stop by Prince Hans's residence to assess his current state.

I don't want to take up your time and beds if it's something I can do myself, but it might be a good idea for one of you to come check on him and make sure there's nothing going on that I can't see. I hope you're not too busy.

He's definitely still breathing, and his pulse seems fine and everything. This would be a much more anxious post if he wasn't, if I even made it at all.

He wasn't injured or anything when I found him, as far as I can tell, or even on the floor. He was just lying in bed when I got here.

Is this a common occurrence here? I do wonder what causes the sleeper to slumber so deep. [But honestly... Being in a dream world, it shouldn't be a surprise.] Is it something instantaneous or mayhap more so over time?

That's what I'd like to know. All of the above, I mean. I didn't notice him looking or acting sleepy the last time I saw him, but it's been a week or something. [He thinks...?] My guess would be that it was sudden, but I really don't have enough information to say.

I have not seen it for myself, so I'm afraid I have no leads myself. [There was Madhuri for a short time but...] If you saw no signs prior, than it is more than likely an instantaneous ailment. I shall have to keep a closer eye out on the matter.
