It would appear that I have been indisposed, though that seems to have been rectified. If for any reason, you have been seeking me, I can now properly attend to matters that were not appropriately handled before said indisposition.

That said, please refrain from entering my personal space and leaving books, regardless of the quality of reading material. Furthermore, please refrain from entering my personal space, period.

I had, prior to my temporary condition, been discussing how to better provide a defence for the town proper. As more dream walkers find themselves in this world, not only do we grow in population count, we also grow in the evolution of the town. The market, beings who are not exactly dream walkers like ourselves, yet present all the same, farming land, the coliseum in disrepair, and our other outskirts.

I would like to know if it is possible to create a defensive ward to otherwise protect Reverein citizens from potential outside threats by use of dreamotion in the establishment of wards. If we are capable of creating such things, it may also be possible to recycle or supply a consistent and constant flow of dreamotion in an effort to power said wards or barriers.

For some time, I have contemplated the ability to, for lack of a better term, 'bottle' dreamotion for later usage. If you have any experience in such matters, I implore you to share your results.

Well, in theory I see no reason why it shouldn't work. After all, there are plenty of individuals who have imbued dreamotion energy into all manner of foods, beverages and even objects. One would only need to find the appropriate vessel and then determine a means of drawing that power out again at a potency relative to that which was first set aside.

Of course, the vessel would need to be something strong enough not to be so easily broken. Elsewise you could easily have a disaster on your hands.

I did wonder over what would constitute an appropriate vessel, myself. My own ability with dreamotion is not an expertise, else I would have tested various ideas before bringing such an idea to the attention of the others here.

I agree, however, that whatever the vessel is, needs to be selected with care. The consequences for an incorrect selection or something going awry would potentially be hazardous against all of us. There is also the matter of whether held dreamotion would lose or gain potency over time if it was not being readily put to purpose.

That certainly is the question.

Though, I should think, one obvious candidate would be some form of crystal. After all, the dreamcrystal lanterns which manifested upon our arrival must absorb a variable amount of dreamotion energy depending upon the length and intensity of whatever dreams we find ourselves within.

Yes. Perhaps if someone were to find crystals which naturally form in the realm itself, a source tied to Reverein rather than a single person, the result might be capable of serving as a vessel. Then one would need only find a way to reinforce it.

Though dreamotion, too, is another problem. Always changing, always in flux. Who knows whether its nature would shift between first being harvested until such time should arise when it is needed again.

If we failed to find one in natural form, it may be possible to create one, in one fashion or another. Although the nature of dreamotion changing could be a concern. We may not be able determine immediately how it is changing or what properties are going to be affected by said change.

You sound as if you have given this a great deal of thought. Or you are particularly experienced with dreamotion. Quite possibly both. Which one is it?

Intriguing perhaps, though hardly original, and certainly not one I'd accept any credit for. Crystals have ever been used to store information, ideas, and yes - energies of a grand scale.

Sourcing the crystal would be the easy part, even if you find it must needs be created. As you said, the challenge would be in testing and anticipating every possible variable.

Which one, you ask? I would say simply that I've the luxury of time, more than enough to give any number of topics a great deal of thought. I do not claim to be an expert in dreamotion, however, merely someone with a passing interest.

[She's inclined to agree with him. She wouldn't call them necessarily 'crystals' back home, but there's no doubt that the stones spread over the regions were vessels of something like great power. Every time she thinks about Odin coming forth and destroying the Cleyran abode in its entirety, she feels her insides grow cold. The stones that hold the eidolons... truly frightening things. Especially in the wrong hands.

And when she thinks about crystals, that's precisely what she's considering. Still, if such like things can hold an entire summon, then dreamotion shouldn't be a problem in theory. Still doesn't solve the idea of figuring out the changes or fluctuations in dreamotion. She wonders if there's anyone else who knows more about it.]

For someone with 'passing' interest, you seem to have given my theory and exploration no small amount of consideration. It would be natural for one to think you might have a deeper interest in it. Perhaps something akin to it where you hail from.

Regardless, you have presented ideas that I feel warrant investigation, though such may prove difficult. I am not certain there is anyone here with the answers to the more complicated questions we might have over the properties of dreamotion.

Do interesting and plausible theories not warrant consideration? If you ask me, there's nothing worse than identifying a problem, nay, of devising a potential path towards a solution only to have it fall upon deaf ears.

But, since you seem somehow unsatisfied with my answer, perhaps it would indulge your curiosity to know that mine is a world of magicks. It should then come as little surprise that I would seek some understanding of this world's magical energies.

As for your investigation, you may not immediately find all of the details you seek, but I suspect those who would assist you are yet out there. Dreamotion is, after all, something which many of us have come to utilize on a day-to-day basis. 'Tis only a matter of time before more discoveries are made.

All feasible theories must be taken into account. There tend to be multiple ways to approach a situation. I would not be so arrogant to assume there is one and one alone.

So I was right. You do have a deeper understanding and therefore perhaps an advantage when it comes to such thought processes. That is to say, your knowledge I would think to be a valuable asset.

I intend to research a bit more into your suggestion, as I find it a distinct possibility. Anything brought to me is worth looking into. I have knowledge of my home world's magic, though I am no magistrix. That said, I find the creation of dreamotion here different in its manifestation. I do not expect any of us to come to an immediate solution. We have nothing but time in this place.

Indeed so. "Where there's a will, there's a way" as the old saying goes. "When a door hath been closed, seeketh out an open window". In either case, I shall be curious to see if this ward of yours reaches fruition.

An advantage, perhaps, though I assure you any knowledge I possess comes with the territory. We've all our strengths and areas of study, after all. Mine simply happens to be that of magicks. If my suggestion proves a viable possibility, then all the better.

And to that I would say, we have time and so much more - yet only so long as we remain "asleep". Dreamotion may be fiddly, yet like most things, I've no doubt it can be mastered.

He makes his points succinctly with just enough information to fill in the places that need it. She can appreciate that. There's no unnecessary fluff when it comes to Emet-Selch.
