Subject: Schools Can Rule!

Hi everyone! :3 My name is Meilin Lee, but you can call me Mei! \o/ Nice to meet you!

So I've been here for like a month (wow!) and I've noticed one super huge important thing this place is missing.

SCHOOL.

Okay so hear me out : I know school isn't like FUN fun for everyone, but! Look at how many posts with people asking to be taught things or offering to teach people things? Plus, us newbies still need to know how to work all this dream energy emotion stuff, and it'd kinda be nicer to do it in a classroom setting instead of when I'm running for my life from a noctare.

Plus, what if when we wake up our minds are all tired and goopy from lack of knowledge? We gotta keep our brains energized!

Here's what we need for a good school -
A building with lots of room
Desks
Lockers
Chalkboards + chalk
Bookshelves
Teachers

There's probably a bunch of other stuff too but this is a work in progress! We should all work together on ideas to make this happen! I know we like a lot of money for it (and I still think it is SUPER WEIRD that dreams need money???) but maybe if we all pitch in a little at a time it'll all come together!

I'm open to any and all ideas!!!! I hope you all have a great day!!!! :DDD

It sounds like you are on your way to fixing two of those things at least. [ There's probably a cute flower or emote (or both) here. ] If you want, we can meet at the well after my shift here at the Harvest.

[ Later that evening, Susato excuses herself a little early, well before sunset. She makes a stop at home to pick up a small bouquet of the Dawn flowers, and from her room, she grabs the little tin where she's been keeping the three little baubles that she's collected.

If only she were dressed a little fancier, you might have thought she was going on a date, but nope! Once she nears the well, she finds a bench nearby, though she doesn't sit down. She realizes that she never really specified a time for Mei, so she simply sets the blue flowers down and pulls out her notebook, ready to message her. ]

[ Mei has eagerly sprung out to the streets as early as she could, looking very chipper. Okay, today would be a No Panda Day! No ears, tails, paws, nothing! A normal interaction between friends... involving dreams and baubles and magic flowers. Okay, so it wouldn't be normal normal, but it'd still go well! Right? Right!

So when Mei spots Susato, she almost shouts a friendly hello, but stops herself. Calm. Calm keeps the panda in. Breathe in, breathe out. Chillax.

After clearing her throat, Mei begins to walk up. ]

Hey, Susato! You're looking prettier than those flowers, girl!

Oh! [ If Mei checks her journal later, she might see a stray mark in there from Susato. Until then, however, Susato perks up and shuts her own journal, deeming it no longer necessary.

Susato's eyes are notably less yellow. Her hair is up in her usual hair loops, and her skin is noticeably less pink out of last month's dreamscape. She grins, eyes squinting slightly in that distinctly Asian way. ]

Hello, Mei. [ Well, she does put some effort into her appearance, particularly when she knows she has to serve a lot of people. Her cheeks might have flushed slightly as she tucked away her notebook, and gave Mei the bouquet, the blue flowers glowing faintly. ] They're for you, of course.

I'm told the cave where they grew was quite dark, so be sure to give them plenty of shade.

[ Mei always wanted to get flowers from a good-lookin' person... she was kinda hopin' it be a dude on a date. Gotta word those birthday wishes better. Ah well!

She slowly takes the flowers, taking her time to observe them and analyze them in her own way. ]

Whoaaa... I don't even think I've seen a shade of blue like this in real life! But I know I can find the perfect place for them. Mom taught me everything and anything about perfect Feng Shui!

[ But then she grabs Susato by the hand and yanks her forward for a big hug! ]

Thank you so much!

[ Oof! Susato lets out a surprised noise at the yank. Powerful pull for a small girl! Almost as if she had the arms of a certain large and fuzzy animal... but the same could probably be said of Susato herself. Susato distantly thinks of Iris as she returns the hug, careful not to crush the Dawns. ]

You're very welcome.

[ She giggles. She is pretty content to stay there for a while longer, but then the temperature starts to rise a little bit. Eventually she pulls back, suddenly reaching for something in one of her kimono sleeves. ]

Ah! And one more thing, before I forget.

Oh, right, the magic bauble things!

[ She pulls back, also very excited to see these! She knows she should be wary, but come oooon, this is so cool! And she'll be careful! ]

If this works out, we can have shared custody of Robaire Junior! After all you've done for me, it wouldn't be fair not to share!

[ As Mei says it, Susato pulls out a small decorated tin where she keeps her baubles. She twists open the tin, showing that he has exactly 3. She plucks one out of the container and offers it to Mei in a laugh. ]

It is my pleasure. I've used it before... only to test it, mind you, but amazingly, it did work. I have the instructions too, here.

[ Tucked inside the tin is a small slip of paper, almost like a fortune cookie. It reads: "Hope you had fun during the festival! Throw this into Wishing Well to receive a special item from home. Just imagine the item and it will appear (watch out for the glitter)." ]

[ Tiny excited gaaasp. ]

They're soooo pretty... I really wanna wear jewelry like that some day...

[ Mom says she's too young for it now, but someday! And gosh, Mei is so very close to being an adult!!!! ]

So I guess the next stop is the wishing well. Guess this place takes everything super literally, huh?

[ She laughs. Honestly, they'll have go shopping one day and make it a girls' day. Or maybe Susato can work on making her something... but until then, she'll try to guide Mei best she can. ]

You could say that. Someone once told me this place is capable of conveying your feelings.

So... perhaps it is just responding to our wishes.

I still really have a lot to learn about this place... but I'm an awesome student, so, I'm totally not worried.

[ She's still worried, but let's jam that down real deep. Instead, continuing the loads of physical affection, she takes Susato's hand. ]

So which way is the well?

[ She takes Mei's hand easily, squeezing slightly to reassure her despite everything. (Mei says she's not worried, but Susato knows better.) ]

Oh, sorry. It's this way. Just follow me.

[ Not that she has much of a choice. Susato isn't letting go, but they don't have far to go either way. To lighten things somewhat, Susato jokes as they walk, referencing a dreamscape that they both seemed to enjoy together: ]

Do you miss the tail?

[ Mei momentairly freezes. DID SUSATO SEE THE PANDA TAIL?! WHEN?! NO NO NO SHE'D BEEN SO GOOD AT HIDING IT FROM AT LEAST ONE PERSON!!! ]

T-t-tail? What tail? I-I-I don't have a -

[ ... wait. they met as mermaids. ]

... OH. YES. THE FISH THING. Ahahahahahahaha NO I'm good! I'd rather stay my normal completely one-hundred-percent-human self, thank you very much!

[ She smiles as hard as she can, hoping her palms have not gotten 10x sweatier. everythingisfine.gif]

[ Her hand does feel a little more slippery suddenly, but maybe Susato just imagine it. She squeezes, once again in reassurance, though now she feels a little bad as well. Maybe she shouldn't have said that, or maybe she didn't enjoy herself as much at it had seemed. ]

Hah. Well...me, too, but we had fun, didn't we? Hm, now how did it go again...?

[ She doesn't remember, because she is a bad 4townie, but you can probably hear some "Oh my, oh my"s under her breath as they turn a corner, the well coming into view. ]

[ Exhaaaaaaale. Thank goodness Susato is so very nice and doesn't suspect a thing. Mei swallows, straightening her spine - oh hey! If it ain't her favorite tune!

Now instantly calmed thanks to her fav bois, she beams a little mischievously. ]

They're stuck in your mind now, aren't they? Can't blame you.

[ The humming stops. Susato suddenly feels self-conscious when she looks at Mei, but it is easy for her to stay in good spirits around her, at least. ]

No, but I can blame you.

[ There is a slight grin. They're a few steps closer now, so Susato points. ]

There, look. That's it.

Oh, sweet!

[ She picks up the pace, dragging Susato along and only stopping when they're right in front it. This is also when she lets go of Susato's hand so she can take out a bauble. ]

So... I just have to picture Robaire Junior super, super hard?

[ Susato can't help peering down the well, distantly wondering how far it goes down; but she nods, since that's basically she did the first time. ]

Yes. While you imagine him, toss the bauble into the well. Oh, but be sure to take a few steps back.

[ "Watch out for the glitter." ]

All right... here we go.

[ After taking the instructed few steps back, Mei closes her eyes, both hands on her bauble. Imagine the feel of the plastic in her hands... the sound his adorable beeps... the image of his smiling pixel face... And TOSS! ]

There! Mama's here, Robaire Junior!

[ She opens her arms, ready to embrace what really just fits in the palm of her hand -

BWOOSH!

- and instead enters glitter hell. She hadn't expected THAT much glitter - as a result, she yelps, and falls backwards! But instead of trying to catch herself, she slaps her hands on her head, hoping to prevent any panda ears from popping out. ]

Oof...!

?!

[ Well, Mei might not try to catch herself, but Susato will. Instead of plopping onto the ground, Mei will feel Susato's hands on her shoulders pushing back against her as she falls back. It isn't entirely strange anyway, to see Mei's hands slap onto her head like that, but she isn't thinking about that.

There is a gasp, but before Susato can ask if Mei is alright, the bauble Mei tossed comes flying back up and out of the well. It's hard to tell, but it's definitely coming straight for Susato, and hits her on the head with an audible thunk when she isn't prepared to catch it in her hands.

Ouch. ]

[ What just happened?! Mei removes her hands from her head - no extra ears, thank goodness! - but tries to turn around... ]

Susato! Are you okay? What happened?! Why did it spit it out like that? Do I have to fight a well?!

[ She'll fight a well! She doesn't give a shit! YOU WANNA HURT HER FRIEND, WELL? YOU WANNA THROW DOWN??? ]

[ So much shouting...! Truthfully, it doesn't hurt that much, but Susato does find herself rubbing at the spot of impact, groaning as Mei's words process. She shakes her head. ]

What? O, Oh, no, please don't!

[ Though the panda would probably win, tbh. She shakes the sleeves of her kimono, glitter coming off in droves. It's probably in her hair, too. ]

I am perfectly fine. Just... um, very sparkly... [ She bends down when she sees the bauble, which had rolled onto the floor after bouncing off her head. ] I don't know what happened. It wouldn't accept my bauble?

[ Even though Susato wasn't hurt too badly, Mei still feels pretty guilty. ]

I'm so sorry... maybe the wish was too... high-tech? Like, they don't even have computers here, so maybe what I wanted was too hard?
