[ There is a new, short message in the journals today, written in painstakingly neat but somewhat shaky handwriting of someone used to writing with calligraphy brushes rather than a feather. There are some frustrated ink splotches, too. ]

Has anybody figured out yet if we can get a new journal if we lose the one we were assigned or if it is destroyed?

[ In which case Jiang Cheng's neon nightmare might suffer a very tragic accident. ]

I'm curious, and I live a dangerous life. I have often lost my communication device in the last place I was captive.

So back then, you were reimbursed with another every time? That is rather generous.

I was. Although after I had lost several ones, they wouldn't show up on me anymore, I had to find them at this gas station where we would find supplies like disgusting excuses for food.

No, that is not helpful. I want to know what happens in case it does get lost or destroyed.

It's magic. The very real answer is that it will either show up or not be something that can be destroyed.

Alternatively, one might be able to just dream up another one.

I had not considered the possibility to dream up another one. I will attempt this.

Have you tried to use dreams to create objects yet?

I don't need dreams to create things.

Though I don't intend to break or lose this journal.

Are you saying you already have the power to conjure up objects?

I might not call them objects. However I do have the ability to conjure up something yes.

So is half of this world. If we can create from dreams... Imagine what can be created from nightmares.

That is a good point. My world knows well what the power of resentment can do. I wouldn't scoff at nightmares. They should not be messed with.

Isn't that what we're meant to do? Mess with them? Restore this world or whatever?

It looks like this is what they expect of us, yes. Although I don't understand why they didn't pick people who know how to do that.

But that aside, trying to control or manipulate the dark power of these nightmares is bound to be very dangerous. Too dangerous, most likely.

[ See, to Vanitas it's... Almost laughable. A being of Darkness and negative energy. Unable to manipulate said forces? Yeah okay. ]

Oh yes. Very very dangerous.

Because they will so stay away from us. How can you hope to put something down if you don't know how it operates?

Playing around with evil powers is dangerous! They are to be studied and fought against, not toyed with or used! Nothing good ever comes out of anyone doing that.

Makes me wonder what sort of "evil powers" you were having to deal with. Might want to check that attitude because you're definitely going to run into people here that have no control over whether or not their associations run towards the darker side of things.

I have seen ad suffered the damage. I have fought it.

I will try not to condemn everyone but don't expect me to trust them easily.Even the ones with good intentions can be used for evil.

Doubtful that you will be the only one with a tale like that.

I don't have any expectations of anyone. All I am doing is telling you what you're going to just have to deal with. Not everyone affiliated with Darkness bears evil intent and not everyone affiliated with Light, good.
