Does anyone here know anything about destroying gods? How about stories from your world about spells or artifacts that could strip a god's divinity?

It's more like who do you really want to destroy. That's more what I was thinking about.

[ Look, Vanitas is currently carrying a shard of his soul that tethers him to Asura's life--it only makes sense for Asura to conclude that the kid might be concerned about that connection. ]

[ A moment after Vanitas finishes writing his response, the Spiritual Entity shard embedded in his body will pulse slightly. ]

You're getting awfully worked up over a mere curiosity. [ Asura's voice speaks from within the shard, apparently having grown tired of writing everything out. ]

[ He jumps at that. Vanitas had expected another reply to come from the book.

Not... Not from within. ]

A little warning would be nice when you're about to do that.

[ Yet he's not even questioning how it is possible ]

[ He probably could have written out that he was about to do that but... eh. ]

Sorry. [ Comes his half-sarcastic apology before he continues. ]

What's this really about? Why do you want to know the details so badly?

[ He taps his fingers against the book, wondering how to best answer. ]

I don't know you well enough to know if you're the reckless type or not.

[ ...Is what he settles on. But it's more complicated than that. ]

Who said that it was me being worried! I can be perfectly cynical and distrustful.

If you're not worried, then why are you upset? I already told you that I'm not going to do anything that might potentially harm you, so why does it matter how reckless I might be?

[ After all, Vanitas barely knows him and Asura has a hard time imagining that he's concerned for his sake. ]

It has to do with my own waking world, not this dream world. The only one who might be affected is me.

[ Can you, like. Not call him out? How does he explain that hearing all of this just makes him uneasy. ]

If it has nothing to do with this place and you can't take it with you... Then why are you asking about this stuff in the first place?

[ Nope, he's never been one to shy away from the hard-hitting questions. Vanitas will feel a vague sense of amusement from the shard. ]

It's possible for a dream world to affect the waking world if the dreamer is powerful enough. [ It's a vague answer but an answer nonetheless. ] I have experienced this phenomenon many times, and I intend to use it to affect my own waking world by connecting to the dream of the god I intend to destroy.

What did this god ever do to you?

[ Not that Vanitas really cares about whether or not this other god deserves it. He figures that there's probably a reason for it and well. If there's a reason. Then that's fine. Whatever.

Vanitas' has killed before so it's not like he can say much. ]

[ A wry chuckle echoes from the shard, and with no small amount of self-deprecation, Asura continues; ]

That god has done many unforgivable things, and it deserves to remain sealed away in isolation where it can't hurt anyone.

Unfortunately, I am a selfish man, and I want to destroy its godly power so it may leave its prison and regain its freedom to walk among people as a normal man.

[ Man... He doesn't get it ]

How is any of that being selfish?

[ He doesn't have to. ]

Because it was born in darkness and that's where it belongs. Letting it walk in the light is my selfish desire. [ Asura doesn't even care if Vanitas figures out what he's not saying out loud. They're already bound by the shard--Asura figures he'll work it out on his own eventually anyway. ]

[ What Vanitas really hates is... People talking in riddles. Talking like he should just be able to figure it out instead of saying it plainly.

Whatever. He might get it later. He might not. ]

Letting a being of darkness walk in light... Are you sure that you and Sora aren't the similar ones?
