Subject: A Big Confession


Okay I'm not sure how to go about this, but I'd super appreciate it if everyone read this??? Because I have a super huge confession to make and it's important to me. And it'd probably explain a lot about how I've been acting since I'm pretty sure I've weirded a lot out of you out.

Guess the best way to start is with the backstory. So like a super long time ago, my ancestor Sun Yee lived in this village during war time, and all the men went off to fight. But that left the village kinda defenseless, y'know? She wanted to protect her daughters so she prayed to the gods for help. So the gods gave her the ability to turn into a gigantic red panda so she could fight off any invaders and protect her home. Because she really loved red pandas.

Now I know that sounds SUPER MADE UP but I promise it's real because that ability got passed down through the generations - which leads to me. Whenever I get super emotional about anything (happy, sad, angry, you name it) I turn into the Panda. Sometimes just a small trigger will set off parts of the Panda, like ears and tail - so if you've seen me try to head my head or my butt, uh, yeah, that's why. Now some of you may be asking why I've been hiding this because we've got literal animals and demons walking and talking around this world like it's no biggie.

IT IS A SUPER BIGGIE IN MY WORLD. Like, no one thinks gods and magic actually exist??? I sure didn't! No one told me about this "blessing" until it happened to me like a few weeks before I came here! And I freaked out and nearly destroyed my home and temple! I'm already a huge target for bullying at my school, this would be infinity times worse! There is this ritual to seal up the Panda but this place grabbed me before we could do it!

But this world is different. Yeah, obviously. But like... everyone's so nice? And understanding? Plus while the idea of a giant Red Panda sounds super silly, that form of mine is actually really strong, so it could help fight monsters here and stuff. So... I'm not going to try and hide it anymore. As long as I'm here, I'm going to try and embrace it a little more. So, I guess, that's everything.

Wait no one last thing - If my mom ever comes here please don't tell her about any of this! Okay now I'm done.

Of course! The more I've got under my belt, the bigger pool of colleges I can attend!

Wow, you just went and said it. I haven't even finished high school yet so it might be a while before I can start doing things like thinking about college more.

Isn't it hard to find time to do everything?

It's never too early to think about your future, so you have to make the time!

We have a lot of time now, so we can start here.

I'd at least like to get my stuff from school sorted first. I was studying some law and politics before I went to this place. Are you any good with those subjects?

I've memorized every part of the Canadian Parliament. You mean stuff like that?

[projections]

Kind of. Japanese law and goverment is what I had to learn for school.

I can't say I know too much Canadian and my English isn't too good, sorry.

I know that stuff cause I'm from Canada! Duh!

Well okay then, I won't be sorry for that.

Do you like your home in Canada? My father was the one who traveled a lot so I only heard stories from whenever he went around the world. It's not like I went very far from home.

I love my home! But my place in Canada is super important too - we're also one of the most famous shrines! Tourists come from all over to see it!

It sounds like a nice place to visit.

I might have seen some photos of Canada before. Are there mountain ranges and moose like in the books?

[ He only knows about stuff in text books. That's not very helpful. ]

You bet! But everyone's always surprised by how big moose are.

THEY ARE HUUUUUUGE

I'm starting to wonder if they're in any way dangerous.

Don't laugh at me. When something's that big it might be bad when moose get angry.

THEY ARE! People assume they're harmless cause of cartoons and tv but they can wreck cars!

[projections]

I understand. I always thought that animals can be dangerous if you don't know how to approach them.

When I see a moose I'll be careful. You should be careful too.

not to worry, i live in the city! Moose usually stay in the forests.

That's good to hear.

As long as we stay in the city we should be okay. I just don't want to encounter anything too troublesome while we're out here.

huh, that kinda applies here to reverin too, when you think about it

[ Shirou's idea of being careful is still off somehow. He doesn't do things like a normal person and he'll be the first one in danger. ]

There's enough trouble as it is, but you're right. It's not too bad in Reverin.
