I don't know what kinda world you come from kid, but flirtin' with monsters is just begging for you to get bit.

They've dealt with these creatures considerably longer than you. They're not like whatever monsters you're familiar with, their capacity for actual cruelty is massively dwarfed by humanity.

They're simply very stupid.

They're closer to people. These ones in particular, the smaller ones, are on the lower scale of intelligence to be found there, but most of them are fully sapient.

A froggit, one of the creatures in question, is a bit closer to a toddler in intelligence. I assume you wouldn't kill a toddler just because it was doing something potentially dangerous.

But while Frisk is well intentioned, they have also never dealt with having to talk down monsters without my aid, so if you have enough control over your strength you can also simply attack them until they admit defeat and run.

Not intentionally no, but I can't really say what my curse would do to a toddler froggit either. And I'm not about to let one kick my ass if it comes down to it. Though if these creatures tend to run in the face of strength, that might make them easier to handle.

They aren't naturally violent creatures. They want peace more than violence.

( Frisk is ultimately glad that others seem to be so open and understanding at what they're saying. It gives them a lot of hope that people at home will be able to get along with the monsters that they have met, too.

( They can't help but be grateful that there seem to be a number of people who want to listen to them. They know that seeing monsters suddenly appear might be alarming to some people. They already know that monsters in other worlds are different - they aren't made of love and compassion like the ones in Frisk's world. )

The monsters from my world that are here don't know that their magic can hurt others. If you're nice to them, you can ask them to stop.

[ It's the mark of a good scientist to question everything, but Zelda has never questioned why it's the norm to indiscriminately kill monsters. It's always been a fact of life, as far as she knows (although monster attacks exponentially increased during her lifetime). Could there be a better way? ]

Why do they attack people in the first place?

( That's a good question, and one that Frisk has to pause before answering. )

At home, some monsters attacked because they had to be on the look out for humans.

But, the monsters here are different. I don't think some of them know that their magic hurts others.

Is it the same in Hyrule, where the violence has been going on for so long that no one remembers who drew the first blood? Or could it be that Calamity Ganon's Malice has driven Hyrule's formerly-peaceable monsters to violence? ]

Yes, there are. There weren't many when I was a little girl, but their populations have increased dramatically over the years.

If you're more confident with your combat ability, you can just hold back enough to force them to surrender.

Frisk isn't being naive, but in complete fairness, none of you have me to guide you while fighting them. They're normally simply unaware of how dangerous their magic is for humans.
