Is there really that much of a difference? Fleeting attraction or long-term companionship, it's all just flags in the brain with no more significance than any other emotional response.

It's not really worth devoting massive amounts of time to- if it feels like the right thing to do, I say do it. Life's too short to give a shit about the labels.

I don't see a meaningful difference between the two. Possibly treating it like a text would be better. You might come off as more genuine if you aren't writing a florid love letter, which might go over better with the object of your affections.

Or maybe she likes dramatic gestures, I don't know. Either way, if you're honest about what you're feeling and she's worth your time she's not going to mock you for it.

And if she does, well. You dodged a bullet.
