hey so I got the typical(??) talk from the dream guys here now but

when they say we're dreaming -

do standard "dream rules" apply?? I don't see people flying all over the place, that's a dream thing for most people, right? idek I don't dream much

and what about that thing when people die in dreams? does that mean they wake up and go on with their normal lives?

[ Dying sucked. But it was supposed to be a one time thing. That’s why he didn’t want to be here - and he couldn’t imagine a kid potentially dying over and over again, facing down - giant spiders? Fuck. ]

I thought so too, but it's unclear whether it's biblical hell or not.

This place is much more gentle, even with its cruel pranks.

… how long have you been here?

I arrived around Christmastime, so not terribly long. The winter here was still very mild.

[Frostbite is definitely not her favored way to go, even with the blessing of numbness.]

Abigail was very amused that I was made of wood around that time. She was made of gingerbread, like most of the houses. That was, thankfully, temporary.

weird. I just got stuck in a stupid costume - seems like I got off easy

The masks were a bit harrowing. The rain and thunder was an example of dreammotion, although uncontrolled.

The ball was nice, though. Abigail enjoyed it.

good - it seemed like most people had a good time. can't say it was my thing though.

People's inner turmoil often become external in this place. I think we will all, in time, have our deepest wounds laid bare.

People here are at least sensitive and courteous about it.

There are quite a few, yes. I am sure you'll meet them in time. A few in particular: Della Duck, a man named Asura, a man named Dante, and a man named mister Inumaki. They are very helpful, if you need assistance from anyone.

I find the easiest place to not get bothered by others to be the library. It's a good place to avoid drawing attention.

Yes. I have been able to find almost all of Edgar Allen Poe's work there. It's been nice.

he's some english guy who wrote spooky poems, right?

American, yes. He wrote more sincerely about mourning and death than many writers do in contemporary spheres.

I'm writing this in hiragana mostly because my kanji is kinda shit. but that's not what you're seeing at all. and I didn't hear you speaking english earlier.

Hiragana? Is that one of the far eastern languages? I hadn't had a chance to study much of the far east in tutoring.

yeah sorry. it's a way to write japanese. I guess english doesn't have more than one way of writing stuff? if I remember right?

I see. There's only print english and cursive english. But cursive is a form of calligraphy stylizing the letters.

got it. didn't get so far to even hear about cursive. kinda dropped out of school.

if you ever get back to anything normal again, don't do that. stay in school, it's dumb but it's worth it.
