Subject: Dreamotion "Lessons"

With the current dreamotion distortion occurring all over and the number of times I've needed to assist those who lack understanding and experience, it would be prudent for there to be a "class" or "training session" for those who are new or need further assistance. If nothing else, learning the basics will help others to advance and develop on their own.

This is a call to any who are willing to help with this endeavor.

While I am willing to assist, I have other commitments that won't allow me to do more than offer start up support, organization if necessary, and advice and insight into using dreamotion. I'm sure there are those who are as or more capable than I, so I have no issue if someone else would like to take charge.

In the meantime, I can offer some private lessons or a one time public demonstration with others who would like to help, but that would be the extent of my involvement.

You are free to use this entry to ask questions and answer each other. Providing tips and advice may help those who have recently arrived. While there are some common trends and techniques, bear in mind that dreamotion will work differently and uniquely to the individual. What works for you might not for another.

Transforming objects may require a greater amount of dreamotion, so it's likely you still need to practice harnessing it to have that much control.

What are you trying to change it into?

well the idea was to make it shift back and forth between a hammer and a sword! i'm more of a hammer guy but percy wants me to learn swordfighting so i'm "prepared" and "ready for anything" so i needed a sword, but it's not working as well as i would've liked. like i said, the best i've managed is getting it to shift from a sword to a fork. it was a toothpick the first couple of times.

I thought I would try and see if I could figure it out myself, but it's sort of hard to get my head around it?

I believe there are some common trends, particularly if you are familiar with magic or something similar. But as it will be affected by one's own personal emotions and focus, it will still likely differ.

I guess I tried thinking about it really hard. Like really hard.

I wonder if that's why I'm having kind of a hard time with it. My world doesn't even have magic, so it's hard to imagine being able to do it.

I could look into integrating this with the healing dreamotion lessons I have been overseeing.

My other idea is to perhaps invoke some measure of my theatre experience into this - to act is to show emotion, and perhaps stepping into a personal role would ease the flow of dreamotion energy.

Integrating your classes would help, especially if it would serve as a more focused stepping point for some who may be familiar with the area.

But the use of theatre... That's something I never would have considered. A visual demonstration would certainly help, as well as the roles.

When one takes on a role, one would also take on the experiences and emotions of the character. If someone is too shy to express their own feelings, they could borrow the mask of another personage and fly free without restraint. At least, such is mine experience as an actor.

By acting out the role of an elemental wizard, you may be able to learn how to use dreamotion to cast a spell like the wizard would. I hope this makes sense.

Briefly, yes.

To be more precise, dreamotion is a form of energy, or mana, which can be used to manifest various phenomena. A healing effect is possible, though the method of achieving such an effect is unique to each individual.

I hold basic dreamotion lessons in the music studio every Saturday evening. Please drop by if you are interested.

I have been trying to find some new abilities for a while now, though I might need to work on summoning weapons out of dreamotion first.

On the other hand, I can also offer to teach fire, light, and ice magic for anyone who is interested in using those magics.

Conjuring weapons seems to take more effort. I haven't delved into it much personally, though I have considered using it for my own weapon to make it easier to call on it if I don't have it on hand.

Yeah, it certainly does a lot of effort as I have learned on my first try. I’m looking to find ways to practice it daily.

The flame sword I summoned during the crystal shard search did took a lot for me to conjure it and use it right and it honestly took me by complete surprise.

I'm not exactly suited to teaching a class. One-on-one would be the most that I could do.

[There is a reason that Nuadha, legendary grouch, has Baldr, the sweetest person on the face of the planet, as his personal retainer, and a large part of that is due to the fact that Baldr helps smooth over all of his own rough edges and social blundering.]

Likewise, I would prefer a one-on-on. Personally I believe that approach would be better suited once an individual understands the basics. It's hard to imagine a class setup outside of learning the basics and general practice.
