Subject: Successful Use of Baubles to Return Home

For those who may not have noticed, recently the baubles used for the Wishing can be used to return to our home worlds and still be able to return. It was a risk, but given the prospect of this for the ongoing research of staying in this world permanently, I tried it myself.

It works.

I departed on the first of the month and according to Tifa, returned after three days here. As before, the time passed in my world was several months and as expected, I still did not retain any memories of my time in Songerein while in my world.

I had the researchers at the Observatory study the dreamotion energy during this process to see if they can learn more about our connection between this world and our world. If there are any who wish to try or plan to return to their home world through the use of the baubles, I would like to request if they could study your trip as well.

It does appear that the more common "random connections" is still occurring. Regardless, I hope this message eases some concerns others might have in wanting to temporarily revisit their world on their own will.

[Well, that's a blessing that he hadn't—]

... A-are you sure?

[Of course he is, but she's still all flustered and doesn't know what to do with herself anymore!!! And this is why they make a great team...]

You're okay with taking the orders too?

I'm already used to it. They'll just have to deal with a limited menu.

[And he's already leaning back towards her, lips brushing against her ear.]

Don't want you wasting too much time.

[He earns a giggle out of her, his lips and low, rumbling voice tickling her ear, and unless she wants to fall for it all again, Tifa gives him a light shove back.]

Then get out there so you can get back in here...

[He just gives her a wolfish grin, steals one last kiss from her lips before stepping back to head out the door.

As soon as he opens it, he'll see the crowd of dogs staring up at him... And every single one of them is giving him a judging look except for Valo who is just confused and happy to see him again. Violet doesn't help matters, giggling as she goes in wanting to see how mommy dearest looks.

Eustace will just ignore the dogs, giving them a brief grin and a shrug before he heads out to the floor. Many of them are familiar faces, and while he gets greetings, some of the older patrons just give him a warm knowing look... Yeah, it's a good thing he's out here instead.

And so after turning the sign to "CLOSED," he'll take in the remaining orders. of course, he wasn't lying to Tifa. With a somewhat heartfelt apology, he only states they're limited to certain dishes and will need to be taken to go. And once the food is ready, he'll deliver them in takeout boxes while providing those who had been eating with them to pack up.

Some were stunned, others amused, but he didn't care. He was impatient to see everyone out and return to Tifa, only able to catch glimpses and tease her in passing. A light brush of her arm here, a surprise nibble there, before Rhonwhen chases him out with a bark. It seems the dogs were going to try and protect Tifa from Eustace's unneeded attention.

Tsk, traitors.

But eventually all the orders are taken and given out until the door dings for the last time and the café is empty.]

[Tifa remains in the back the whole time, sometimes peeking through the crack in the door to watch Eustace handle the customers outside, catching his gaze every now and then before she smiles and shuts it again. Even the dogs remind her that she has work to do, and so she only returns to cooking and prepping with a flustered laugh, amused at the way they all bark Eustace away when he comes in to try sneaking a kiss.

Which she will happily still give.

And when all the orders are filled and the café is finally empty, that last jingle of the bell on the door signaling its closure, Tifa once again pokes her head out from the kitchen.]

... Eustace?

[She'll send all of the dogs out of the kitchen now, and they file out one by one, some of them giving both of them that Look they get when they know things are about to get mushy. Violet, on the other hand, is enjoying herself immensely.]

Was that everyone?

That was it.

[He flips through the book to do a quick check of all the orders and payments placed before he snaps it shut and puts it in its usual secure place.]

Everything cleaned up or need some help? Could get Mirabelle to do it.

["HEY!"]

No, I'm alright. Cleaned up as I went.

[And as always, the kitchen is as spotless as ever. Regardless of everything else going on, Tifa remains on top of things in the café.

Plus... she didn't want to waste any more time cleaning after than she needed to so that all of that time can be spent with him instead, but as she comes out from the back, ignoring Mirabelle's huffs and puffs about finding them in the kitchen again, she has two cups of fresh coffee in her hands.]

Here. Figure we'll need a couple more of these...

[He can't help but smile a bit at the cup as he takes it.]

One for the road.

[Tifa tips her head at him and glances around the empty café—even the dogs have started to make their way out to the backyard for now, knowing that mom and dad probably want some of that gross alone time.]

Do you wanna stay here or head home?

Hm... Up to you.

[A grin as he leans in just a little more.]

How much privacy do you want...?

[Tifa looks in the direction of the back, and while she can't see the door, she can hear the dogs barking and playing outside, and the chime of Mirabelle's wings and her voice calling after them to be careful!!!]

Well, it's pretty private now...

[She takes a step closer until her body presses gently to his, and she takes a drawn-out sip of her coffee.]

But we could head to the back again... or upstairs...

[Like he'd suggested earlier.]

[That grin widens a little as a hand automatically goes towards her hip. Slowly his face leans in closer before he murmurs into her ear.]

Upstairs.

[And then he'll pull away, sip his coffee, and start walking.]

[That gets a shiver out of her, sending goosebumps up and down her spine, and her whole body shudders, anticipation already buzzing. She really shouldn't—there's still some news that she needs to share with him before they leave, but it's hard not to when he's so close, and when the universe keeps tearing them away from each other like that.

So, without a word, she follows suit, sipping on her coffee as a glint shimmers in her eyes, gaze following him as he walks away from her. Up the stairs they go, ignoring the stares of the other animals on the way, and once they make it to the spare room, she lifts the cup of coffee to her lips and shuts the door...

...

Preventing him from immediately swooping in for a kiss if that was his plan.]

[Such a cruel wife, preventing her dear husband from stealing that kiss he wanted. Because he really was already turning around, having set his cup of coffee on the table and prepared to pin her to the door. But he only got as far as getting one arm above her head and leaning in when he sees that cup.

Cute.

[And he's going to just TRY AND GRAB THAT COFFEE TAKE AWAY—]

[A steaming cup of coffee in her hands that she wouldn't dare try to snatch back, so when he reaches for it, Tifa can only comply with a pretend pout and a small cry out in protest before she lets it go.]

You're not even going to finish? I made it for you...

[And she remains up against the door, pinned there beneath his arm, her fingers crawling up his front as she waits to see what her wolf will do next...]

I can always heat it up later.

[Now he has a problem. The table is a few steps away, but he doesn't want to release his quarry just yet.

What to do...

Hah, easy answer.

Vines creep down near him and curls around to form a flat enough surface for him to set down the coffee. As it slowly carries it off to the table, he smirks at her.

What now.]

[Tifa tries with all her might not to let her eyes leave him, like a prey cornered by its predator, even at the sound of the vines. Her chest heaves with a light chuckle, amused at the clever use of the vines, but her eyes have already started to grow heavy with that pent-up yearning as she gazes up at him through her lashes.

She bites down on her lip, wiggling her hips almost like she might be trying to squirm away from him before she huffs a "defeated" sigh.]

Well, you got me now...

[What is a little rabbit to do?]

I do.

[A low murmur as he leans in closer, his free arm reaching out to take her by the hip and pull her to him. He does remember that there was something else she wanted to tell him... But it can wait. No, it would have to wait because the heat in his eyes could no longer extinguished, not even for a moment.

He won't give her much time to say anything more as the hand above her head lowers to cup her face and tilt her chin up as he closes the distance to swallow her lips into a fervent, demanding kiss. He had been patient enough and he wasn't going to let anything else interrupt them, not even her.

And so things will start at the door, but eventually they'll move to the bed to have their "proper reunion."]

[That heat in his eyes is enough to stoke that flame in hers. It had already been stirred long, long ago, before he'd even pressed her up against the kitchen counter and they shared those kisses. As soon as he walked through that door and she laid eyes on him and her hands had touched him, proof that he had really come back and she wasn't just dreaming, it had been rekindled.

And now... Now it rages beneath her calm, timid demeanor, beneath her innocently round eyes that stare up at him as he tips her chin up, moves her to look directly into his eyes before she drowns in a deep kiss, deepened all the more by their growing impatience.

They have their reunion—the one that they have both been longing for, and by the end of it, when the sun is past its highest point in the sky and it filters now through the vines and vines of starflowers that cover the room, they lie there together, still wrapped up in each other, Tifa's skin flushed and her heart still beating for him.

After some reprieve, she shifts in his arms until she's leaning over him, hair draping across his cheeks, and she drops a soft kiss to his lips, smiling all the while.]

How's it feel to be back?

[It's her way of asking the usual "how are you feeling" this time...]

[Eustace is quite content afterward...and would probably have kept her all day and night, but that would be unfair to the rest still waiting for them. So he'll just hold her close to him, again that strange dissonance between that time passing here and back in his world making itself know. It had all felt so familiar yet achingly new at the same time.

Well it just means they will have to make up for that "lost time," something he doubts Tifa will mind.

So when she leans over him, he just smiles languidly, returning that kiss as his arm slides up and around her shoulders.]

Not enough.

[A light smirk as he tries to pull her back to him.]

[She definitely will not mind at all. She's doing some of that making up for it now, even, by obliging when he pulls her down until she's resting on top of him, lips melting into his for a more fervent, impassioned kiss.]

Well... [When she breaks, she taps him on the nose.] We've got lots of time now... I'm not letting you go back again anytime soon.

I don't think I will. Not anymore.

[Things were continued well with or without him... And he no longer really needs to know what is going on there. A part of him is still there where it is needed... But this part, this existence of his is what matters more. And he can just trust his other self and only concern himself here.

This world.

Her.]

...But we can save the rest for tonight.

It's still pretty early...

[Her legs now wrap around his, locking them both into place together, a suggestive grin spreading across her lips.]

What are we going to do until then?

[Honestly, if he said lie here just like this until it was time to go home, she would happily do so. Whatever he wants, he can have.]

Hmm... Just stay here.

[A grin as his lips roving over to her neck.]

If they need us they know where to find us.

[Her head falls to her shoulder, the tingling sensation of his lips too good to pass up, her skin still sensitive and hot from earlier, pulse still racing to keep up with everything.

But her eyes do pause on the door where vines have crawled all the way up and wrapped around it's handle.]

I think we might've locked them out...

[Probably for the best. Wouldn't want an unsuspecting Mirabelle to come barging in again.]

Oh. Do you still want that coffee?
