What are some good gift ideas, if there is someone who keeps giving you gifts you want to recompense?

How can you tell if someone did something because it amused them, or because they wanted to be nice?

What do you look for in a decent mattress?

Oh, it's one those kinds of gifts. I think I get it.

[Like when a friend of a friend gets you something for your birthday, so now you have to get them something for their birthday, maybe?]

But what if he keeps giving you presents? Are you going to keep giving him stuff in return?

If you don't mind it, I guess it doesn't. If you don't really like giving gifts, getting stuck in a gifting loop sounds like it might be sort of a bother, though?

It might not hurt to try, though. Especially if you REALLY don't like getting gifts or the gifts are bad or whatever. It's not like he knows you don't want him giving you gifts, right?

They're just flowers and clothes, nothing bad. I told them to stop, but they're like cats who bring you dead things.

Like a cat? Cats usually bring stuff like that to people they like, right?

Do you think maybe he's just trying to be your friend? I can't imagine he would give you stuff like that if he didn't like you at least a little.
