Hard to believe that at the end of this month, it will have been two years since this little dream world started pulling us all into it. Quite a marvel, isn't it? I certainly hadn't expected it to last this long!

Now I'd hoped to have a little surprise I'd had planned for Reverein finished by our two-year anniversary, but our rather rude guest a few months ago pushed back several plans!

Back in Hell, I was often-times referred to as "The Radio Demon" due to my powers over the radiowaves. I've been working with Miss Madhuri and her charming husband on perfecting a means of producing radios here in Reverein, but I ask you this: What fun is there in a radio with only one channel? None, that's what!

I've been working with some of the people at the Observatory to develop the technology for others to broadcast without having to rely solely on my powers, and we're ready to begin construction on a brand-new radio station specially designed for Reverein! One of the advantages to a world of magic and imagination: No need to make a radio tower look like hideous scaffolding! Absolutely delightful! Perhaps someday more towers will be built to connect us to Dragon Island or even places farther afield!

The project should be finished next month, so there's plenty of time to get your hands on a radio of your own to hear the inaugural broadcast!

Miles and miles away, my dear. The radio tower I'll be building will allow you to hear a broadcast from a little beyond one side of the current size of Reverein to a little beyond the other! Adding additional towers would expand that reach even farther out!

As for talking back, it is possible. Most people owned radios that only received audio but there were plenty that could send messages to each other. Of course, I'm a unique case: all that radio equipment is built in for me! Ha ha! But if I was within range, it'd be possible to contact me by placing your hand even on a receiving-only radio and speak my name. It's like talking directly in my ear!

And I take it you're not referring to some form of afterlife?

I'm afraid you're venturing into territory I'm completely unfamiliar with. I know just enough about the internet and modern technology to know how to interact with it via radio waves if I had few other options.

No. I skip the 'lose your memories' part and go straight onto the 'reborn in a new body' part. I can't claim to be as old as some demons, but I'm quite old compared to a normal human.

Ratted programs are like phishing websites in that they function almost completely similarly to normal programs except there's code in there to steal online-based credentials like a small file that tells a website you're logged in to that website, or perhaps even passwords that have been stored on your computer.

With phishing, it's just mimicing websites in order to fool you to input your password.

I appreciate you're trying to explain, but I really have no interest in the internet in whole or in part. I understand the broad strokes, but the specifics elude me. Nor am I all that interested in becoming more familiar with it.

Ah, so the afterlife is more reincarntion where you're from! Fascinating! Is it like how some cultures believe that the actions taken in one life can affect the circumstances in the next one?

Not as far as I've been aware. It's generally a clean slate, though some small habits remaining isn't totally unheard of.

One would think, but back in Hell nobody wants to draw my attention to them unless they have no other choice.

I'd be quite pleased if you did for both cases! Radio has been my passion since long before I died, and being able to introduce it to this dream world is such a treat! People are already expressing interest in attempting to perform themselves on the radio so you'd have quite a selection to choose from!

How about we meet and talk this over in person? You could show me how you manage this audio trick with the journals and get a taste for if you'll find me entertaining enough to listen to for staters.

I share a treehouse on the edge of town in the Residential District, but I find people are more comfortable meeting me somewhere public first.

Perhaps but they know to respect boundaries. They tried to see what made me tick to manipulate radio waves as I do and learned very quickly that poking and prodding was unwelcome.
