CW: Small reference of ghosts eating people

I was not aware that a special holiday known as Halloween was coming up! To celebrate, I figured I should tell you one spooky tale from my world.

Have you ever heard of a story called A Hungry Ghost? They are spirits that linger into our world should they have done any terrible crimes when they're alive. Due to their greed, whether it is money or for something else, they are never satisficed. What a pity as their poor souls could not move into the afterlife. They venture in search of food. Makes me wonder just how long it'll be before they go after people too...

Although, should you want more spooky tales from Liyue? Feel free to let me know as I do wish to tell people a little bit more about my world! Nothing like getting into a spooky mood, no?

I would love to hear more spooky tales from Liyue. I’m very curious to hear what kinds of spooky tales from other cultures and worlds.

Oh, oh, how about zombies? Zombies seem to be a great kind of creatures to have stories on.

Ah, oh okay then. Vampires it is then. That is probably a better word for them based on what you have described of them.

Oh wow, that is pretty spooky and cool. Vampires that lurk in the forest in the middle of the night and only the bravest souls can face them head on? Now that is one spine chilling tale I would love to hear again and again.

Oh yes, I’m pretty brave enough to face one head one. Vampires don’t scare me that easily.

Not even once. They have no idea about how terrifying my gift can be. They probably never saw pointy sharp cacti or sundews that can scare them to bits.

Oh yes. I would definitely make a big net of sturdy vines, sundews and fly traps to trap them in and then fling several cacti at them as a scare tactic.

If they were to break the net, I will resort to throw more cacti at them. Maybe add in some garlic just in case if they are indeed afraid of its anti flammatory properties as some legends try to explain.

Yep. Even the scariest of monsters can fear anything and be scared of something. Something that could give them the chills and realize that they’re not so big and scary after all.

It does sound very fitting with Halloween coming closer each day and it never hurts to come prepared for anything.

I would start by decorating my flower shop and treehouse in the spookiest stuff that I can find. Not too scary to give some folks a fright though. I have seen some locals already starting on their decorating spree. I think that some town children would try to ask in song to get adults to give them candy.

The day after Halloween, Día de los Difuntos, is a day where we commemorate the dead and their memory. We usually visit their graves and give them offerings of foods, water, flowers and toys. Although I don’t think that I’m near my Abuelo’s grave to celebrate him and his life.

Ohhh. That is a fascinating origin to commemorate and pay respects for the dead. I really don’t want to incur the wrath of the dead by not paying their graves a visit at once a year.

Maybe I could try to make a makeshift memorial or grave for my Abuelo at my yard and celebrate him and his memory with it. That could be a possible idea.

Oh that would be marvelous! I will need all the help in sharing the customs of remembering the dead and their lives in the universe.

I will try to list down the things I will need to make the memorial happen, it should not be hard to gather all of them in time like candles. A portrait in his image will be greatly appreciated so people can see what he used to look like. And finding a good table and table cloth for the offerings as well, can’t forget that one either.

Hm, that is a good point. There is a portrait of him in my family home on the stairways. This is one of the two known images I was able to know him through.

And I do have plenty of the regain baubles that I have never used in a long time, so I could try to use one of the baubles I have to try to get that portrait before the end of the month.

Oh wow. Maybe if I throw one of those baubles, maybe the portrait of Abuelo will show up from that wishing well. I do hope that it will work out well in my first attempt of wishing for something from home. This could be the best Diá de los Difuntos I can make in short notice.

Well that is all I can think of besides from the food and drink offerings and floral arrangements. If you got some more suggestions, feel free to tell me anything.
