journal 🔶 psa from a former fairy
[Ferran isn't unaware of how these journals work, but he's still working out what pages are "public" and which are for his own private use.
Thus, one evening, a sketch of a building slowly comes together, distinguished by its tall stone towers, walls topped with battlements, wrought iron fences, and a large courtyard. The artist pays special attention to the detailing in the texture, making it easy to imagine what materials the imposing place might be made of. To those familiar with the city of Aefenglom, it's clearly a representation of the Coven.
After he's done, he writes in neat print:]
Don't trust the Fae. Whatever else I've forgotten, I know that much.

I still believe it will be to my advantage to try and master this skill. Even with the risks.
But I will be more careful. I will try to figure out precautions.
[ Maybe this person is right. Maybe they are not. It still can't hurt to be cautious. ]
Do you remember anything else about the fae?

[... he wasn't even trying to tell anyone about it, really—but if the note to himself can serve as a healthy warning, he's not upset.]
The ones I remember had a tendency to be vague, so it was important to make note of what they did or didn't tell you. That, or make them give you details.
[If only they knew the weaknesses of the ones here...]

This place does seem to be too good to be true.

Ferran pauses for a minute, considering. Despite his own sorry state, it is an improvement over the alternative, isn't it? And what little he can remember of the previous world he's been to tells him he was miserable there, too. But here, in this dream world... he's almost had the chance to relax.]
It does.
[He'd rather it not prove to be that way, but he can't think his luck has changed that much.]
You're welcome. I hope you won't have too much reason to use it.

If our suspicion is proven wrong, I will be happy. But in the meantime, I like to be prepared for the worst case.
