journal 🔶 psa from a former fairy
[Ferran isn't unaware of how these journals work, but he's still working out what pages are "public" and which are for his own private use.
Thus, one evening, a sketch of a building slowly comes together, distinguished by its tall stone towers, walls topped with battlements, wrought iron fences, and a large courtyard. The artist pays special attention to the detailing in the texture, making it easy to imagine what materials the imposing place might be made of. To those familiar with the city of Aefenglom, it's clearly a representation of the Coven.
After he's done, he writes in neat print:]
Don't trust the Fae. Whatever else I've forgotten, I know that much.

One of them used its magic to throw me halfway across the town for no good reason.
iirc he got in an argument with the tapir about going to the wild/wastelands, right?
yeah he's not being entirely forthcoming lmao
[To Ferran, arguing with and attempting to head past the tapir into the wild alongside a much more aggressive woman is apparently no good reason. If it had just thrown Kainé he wouldn't be nearly so sour about it, probably. But also, the thing could have just erected that barrier it put up and that would have been that! What's the deal!! So anyway, now he has to answer violence with the proper retaliation.]
Be careful about going against what they say where they can see you.
i thought so!
What provoked them to attack you? My only interactions with them have been cordial thus far, but I'd like to avoid doing something to invoke their ire.
[ She's not entirely convinced that the tapirs and other fae of this world are quite as threatening as Ferran is suggesting, but she'll be cautious all the same. ]

I just wanted to check out the wilderness, so I started heading that way. But it insisted on that being "too dangerous," which is funny, if you ask me.
[Because it's not like what that thing did to him was dangerous, or anything.]

Why is that funny? Warning someone of danger doesn't seem all that malicious.
