second entry ⊗ quest #1205 corgi help
Sender: Eustace

Subject: Requesting Personal Stories About Adventures and/or Travels and Other Items in Relation to Dream Board Post #1205
I am in need of numerous stories about any kind of adventure, journey, or travel you may have embarked on be it in this world or your own.
If you've seen my posting on the board, this post is to provide fuller details about the situation. Last month I had been...trapped in a large tree located on the eastern forests, and within this tree are seven dogs which look like corgis. [Have an imprinted image of what the adorable fluffballs look like:]

It all appears to have been pulled in from another world and has remnants of its original magic in place. This magic is a protection spell and prevents the dogs and anything within the tree to leave. Should the dogs somehow manage to leave without it... They will likely die.
Even if it's for their protection, the dogs need and want to go outside. Furthermore, Should something happen to the tree they wouldn't be able to escape. Fortunately, a way to break the original enchantment and cast a new one to protect them as they live in this world has been found. It's simple and requires the following:
None of these are specific so it's whatever can be found, though the better quality, the better chance of succeeding. However, because of the number of dogs, a large amount of each will be needed to ensure they are properly protected. It would be better if there was a better solution, but this will have to do for now.
As for the adventure stories, as mentioned I need a large amount so I would like to ask any willing to share any personal stories they had. There are no specifics, but I get the sense the story should have some spirit of exploration and discovery, which would fit the purpose of the spell. These stories will be transcribed in a journal used for the spell.
Finally, I am looking to create a headstone. The tree and the dogs had a guardian before, however he perished upon leaving the tree. The remains have been buried, but a headstone would be appropriate as well.
If you have any questions, feel free contact me. You can drop off the ingredients at the Fairy Doghouse located within the Residential District. There will be a designated bin for the items. [He draws a brief map with directions. The dogs he refers to are the flower fairy dogs that were brought in a while back.]
Thank you.

Close. It was a wolf cub.
It's not unusual for hunters to lay out traps, though these were mostly a deterrent to keep predators away from the village. It was old, but it was enough to tell me that I wasn't too far from home at least. More importantly, the cub's paw was trapped and it couldn't get out. Since I didn't see sign of its pack, I guessed that it must have wandered off and got lost.
[Same as him, ah ha.]
As you can guess, I felt bad for it, so although it was ready to bite me if I got too close, I walked around, undid the trap, and let it free. It was surprised at first before it tried to run off, but its paw was too injured. I could have left it alone, but I knew it would die as it was. So I managed to coax it so I could treat its paw, using the snow to clean it and then wrap some cloth around it. I think then it began to trust me and let me pick it up to carry it away.
But then I noticed it was getting darker and colder and I still hadn't figured out the way back home. I could only pick a direction and hope I was going the right way.

[ She continues to be unsurprised that even a child Eustace would go out of his way to help an animal in need, especially a canine. The corigs seem to approve, their bottoms wiggling happily as they learn of their caretaker's past escapades in helping dogs. ]
Were you able to find your way back home...? What about the wolf cub?

[And here he sighs a little, as if lamenting his younger self.]
While I did manage to at least head in the right direction, the villagers had already started a search party. So when the sun had fully set, I could see the torches and hear them calling for me. However, around the same time in the distance I could hear a wolf howling. From the way the cub wriggled out of my arms despite the injury, I knew it must have been from its pack. I wanted to bring it back so it could be treated, but it started limping away instead.
Knowing that it's still a wild animal and probably for the best, I could only watch it leave and hope that it would find its way back unharmed. Not long after the villagers found me and took me back.
[A small laugh.]
I had the scolding of a lifetime and was grounded for weeks to do chores, but it was worth it in the end. That night I could hear the howls of the wolves including the cub, so I knew it had also returned to its family.

So both of you did find your way back, one way or another. I think that's a very nice story, and I'm thankful that you shared it!
[ She casts a glance around at the corgis around them. ]
What did you all think of Eustace's story? It's good, right?

Glad you are all satisfied.
[Said in a way that implies they shouldn't expect more—]
