Hey there! You can just call me Alphen. I've already encountered many warriors and seasoned soldiers. We have strong fighters here.

I'm interested in seeing weaponry or combat gear. There are some really neat swords with intriguing designs. Still, I know that a weapon can be lethal all the same. So I've been meaning to ask a question as well.

For what reason would you fight?

I fight to protect my friends. I want to use my strength for the right reasons.

Granted, all I know how to do is wield a sword. I'd be more than glad to put those skills to use. I'm willing to spar and exchange combat moves with someone. Maybe we can learn with one another. I can't exactly let my blade rust when seriously powerful beasts could attack at any moment.

Then for you, what kind of blade do you wield?

A blade that was entrusted to me by a friend. It used to belong to a hero from the past.

A hero of the past?

Yeah, there were soldiers who fought difficult battles many years ago.

I'm just using an old weapon from that time.

I see.

[He can technically relate given his own weapon is a relic of old moon technology, but he won't be sharing that info.]

Does your weapon grant you any particular abilities? I only ask since in some worlds a weapon is nothing more than the materials it's made of, but in others a weapon can hold additional powers or serve as a conduit for the wielder to execute abilities they otherwise couldn't. Since you seem to favor this weapon, I was curious if there was anything special to it.

This weapon is just easier to swing around normally. If I'm being honest it's a really nice blade.

The craftsmanship is unlike anything I've ever seen before. The amount of detail on the grip and the edge are just fascinating.

There's another sword that lets me access different abilities though. It's called the Blazing Sword.

I'll hazard a guess that the abilities relate to fire.

The sword is made up of Fire Astral Energy. Have you heard of that word before? Astral Energy is just the life force all around us.

[...WELL. That's a word he shouldn't be surprised to hear about but it makes him stare at it all the same.]

We have Astrals in my world, but I imagine they're different from what you have in yours.

They're most likely different but I'm more interested in learning what it means in your world.

Astral Energy in my realm comes six elements including fire. My sword is made up of that essence.

We have six elements, but they don't come from Astral Energy.

The Astrals...are different beings from humans and other common races. Instead they used their energy to create powerful entities called primal beasts and the angels.

What's the difference between a primal beast and an angel?

I suppose the Astrals in your world must be powerful.

Classification. They serve different purposes.

They are, and we had a war against them centuries ago but managed to beat them back.

It's almost like there's war anywhere you go.

My home world was in constant conflict too.

[flamekthunder]

It does seem that way, unfortunately.

[And his just gets hit by so many different fronts it's probably disconcerting that's become almost commonplace.]

But you speak in past tense. If you don't mind sharing, what was happening in yours?

I fought to liberate Calaglia from the people who choose to oppress it.

There's at least three hundred years of conflict and bad blood. Things are starting to change now but it's not over yet.

That sounds like a difficult endeavor. Did you have a large group?

So many people came to support that cause so I didn't manage it all on my own.

That's something I'll always be thankful for. What about you? Do you have allies you can count on?
