Hey there! You can just call me Alphen. I've already encountered many warriors and seasoned soldiers. We have strong fighters here.

I'm interested in seeing weaponry or combat gear. There are some really neat swords with intriguing designs. Still, I know that a weapon can be lethal all the same. So I've been meaning to ask a question as well.

For what reason would you fight?

I fight to protect my friends. I want to use my strength for the right reasons.

Granted, all I know how to do is wield a sword. I'd be more than glad to put those skills to use. I'm willing to spar and exchange combat moves with someone. Maybe we can learn with one another. I can't exactly let my blade rust when seriously powerful beasts could attack at any moment.

I use magic, so I don't use any particular weapons aside from a staff. Though, that's just for show really. Sometimes it's helpful if I can use it to focus on specific situations.

Magic sounds hard to use. Do you need to practice with it all the time?

Mmm... It depends on the person. For me, magic is very easy. I was born as a Mahou, though, so it just comes naturally to me. It's a part of who I am now. After seeing some of the people here though, it may not be so easy for people who do not originally have magic where they're from.

If you want to master a spell, you have to practice it enough just like any other thing. It comes more naturally to me, but even I have to keep at it through trial and error to do it well enough.

Of course! It takes time to build up any skill magic is no exception. I've been fighting with a sword for all my life so it feels natural for me to wield.

There's magic in my world but not just anyone can use it. Can anyone use magic in your world?

Really? It's a commonplace thing to see back home. [Or used to be.] Almost everyone where I'm from was born with the ability to use magic; though what you specialize in depended on what your hopes and dreams were centered around. Your goals in life.

What determines who can use magic where you're from?

It's decided when someones born. No, that's not right.

It's probably decided long before that too. Magical things predates ancient history where I'm from.

So you either have it or you don't. I'm surprised to hear about magic from your world.

Huh... Like a bloodline or something?

[That seemed like the most logical case here.]

Well, the magic I know is fueled by hope. [As silly as that sounds.] It was more rare to find people who were incapable of using magic back in Melandrach.

Something like that, yeah. Magic is used to determine the ruling class because it makes them that much more powerful.

In your world it comes from hope? I think almost everyone has hopes and dreams.

Oh, I see. [So it was a way to define social class. Interesting] Mhm. Almost everyone was able to use it. There were only a few people who were born incapable of using it. Each person's specialty magic changed depending on what it was that they held dear to them. For me, I specialize in healing and nature magic.
