hey guys! i'm sora! i've been hanging out in this world for about five months now!

i wanted to asked everyone something that might help me figure out what i'm looking for. i wanted to ask what you think a heart is made out of.

and i don't mean your heart that makes your body work. i mean your heart. the thing inside of you that makes you who you are. that makes you happy or feel great. that makes you angry or cry. the heart inside of you that makes you part of everything around you or makes you see the light or darkness in your world.

i guess some people would call those souls? but i've always known them as hearts!

i wanna know what you think makes you, you. what your heart says about you! and how you think it got there.

ohhhh okay i think i get it. and it's something only people like you have. celestial makes it sound like you're some sort of angel

so how did you get yours? you're just born with it?

[Sora can't hear Asura's snort of wry laughter at that, but there's a brief pause before he starts to answer back.]

Definitely not an angel. "Alien" is probably closer. And yeah, we're born with it.

Anyway, back to your question, our Spiritual Entities are basically our hearts and souls, but for Celestials, this is an actual physical entity rather than a nebulous sense of "self."

well ok i sort of don't get it

so you get something physical that is your heart and soul. like inside of your body. i could poke it? touch it? like a necklace or a core??

It does have a core.

And yeah, while you could touch it, that'd be a bit personal. Would you want people poking your vital organs?

i guess now i gotta wonder if it's possible for someone else to get a core entity thing like you?

They would have to take it from another Celestial, but I can't say it would do non-Celestials any good.

oh geeze! no, i don't want to do anything like that! i'm not gonna take one from someone! no thanks!

Actually, it might be possible after all. When a Celestial dies, or when a Spiritual Entity is damaged or fused, a shard is created. Given enough time and energy, that shard can potentially grow into a new core.

You would need to embed that shard into a host body, but it might actually work.

what?! really?! i could really give that to someone to host it and it could become theirs?!

... i mean i don't know about taking something that used to belong to someone eles. i just thought that maybe it would be a way to help a friend grow his own heart. i mean his own soul, you know... i don't want to be disrespectful either.

[Or weird. Would it be weird to take a dead celestial's shard??]
