hey guys! i'm sora! i've been hanging out in this world for about five months now!

i wanted to asked everyone something that might help me figure out what i'm looking for. i wanted to ask what you think a heart is made out of.

and i don't mean your heart that makes your body work. i mean your heart. the thing inside of you that makes you who you are. that makes you happy or feel great. that makes you angry or cry. the heart inside of you that makes you part of everything around you or makes you see the light or darkness in your world.

i guess some people would call those souls? but i've always known them as hearts!

i wanna know what you think makes you, you. what your heart says about you! and how you think it got there.

I mean, there have been lots of books and plays about it. It's kind of a big deal in Fódlan history.

Nemesis didn't get upset so much as he got power-hungry. Like, he had this awesome power from the Goddess and it went to his head. Saint Seiros intervening was kind of a wake-up call to everyone else that maaaaaybe it's a bad idea to do that in the future. Which makes sense. I wouldn't want to fight the Chruch or the Goddess, that's for sure.

[Who would do that?! Certainly not some of her classmates in the near future. That would be nonsense!]

And yeah, people who use Heroic Relics without a Crest end up becoming monsters. I'm not sure why, but I've seen it happen. It's really, really ugly. But there aren't any Heroic Relics here that I know of, so there's no risk of that happening here or anything.

fighting goddesses and churches does sound like a rough idea! it sounds like there was some darkness in nemesis' heart that must have gotten the best of him too. that happens when someone gets really power-hungry.

is it hard to find relics? i'm guessing it is!

has anyone ever been able to give a crest to someone since then?

I haven't really thought about it like that, but I think you're right. Is the whole 'darkness gets the best of people' thing common where you're from?

[Sora seems like he knows what he's talking about there, so she's curious.]

I think all of the Relics are accounted for? They're heirlooms in the families who descended from the Ten Elites. [Plus the one that was in the Church's care until recently. Plus some extras, because the DLC happened.]

The goddess hasn't given anyone new Crests since ancient times. People who are born with Crests nowadays inherited them from their ancestry. It's passed through bloodlines.

sort of- where i'm from darkness and light are both things everyone has in their hearts. it's not bad or good it's just one and the other. but if someone has too much darkness or too much light? things can get tricky.

dang, that doesn't mean you could just give someone a crest, huh?

Ooooooh. That makes sense, actually! And yeah, it was very much a 'too much darkness' kind of situation.

What happens when there's too much light?

And right, I can't just hand out Crests as I please. My kids, when I have them, may or may not inherit it from me.

i'm guessing pretty much the same thing! you can get crazy! but there are some people who can hold pure light in their hearts and still be themselves. those are call princesses of heart.

[If there's one thing Sora knows now is that darkness and light aren't really bad and good. it's just parts of a whole.]

aww... it's too bad you can't make crests when you need them though.

Seriously! That would be super handy. I could give people Crests, and they could take care of things for me. My life would be soooo much easier.

[Maybe it's for the best that Hilda can't hand out Crests, since obviously she would use them to get out of her own responsibilities. Also, thanks for not wanting babies, Sora. You're a bro.]
