Subject: Your experiences in other worlds that are not your own

[ Since her arrival, Zelda has learned two very important things. One, these journals are not private at all and should not be treated as traditional diaries. And, two, it sounds like a not insignificant number of residents in Songerein have experienced travel to other worlds before. It would be to her benefit to learn everything she can from them. ]

To the residents of Songerein,

I understand, from reliable sources, [ Read: herself ] that many among our number have experienced this world reality matter of traveling to a different plane of existence before now.

If those of you who have done so would be so kind as to share any pertinent information with those who are new to this endeavor, it will be most appreciated.

[ What counts as "pertinent information?" Zelda doesn't exactly know herself. Hopefully everyone's advice will be more helpful than her request. ]

well usually i use my gummiship. it's a spaceship that my friends chip and dale put together so we can fly through space.

[ Zelda really wants to press him for all the details of how a Gummiship works and how it achieves space travel, but holds herself back. Sora doesn't seem like the type who knows a lot about the technology he uses. ]

For what reasons do you travel to other worlds?

[ What he wrote before made it sound like a job or a hobby, neither of which Zelda can really imagine. ]

[She would be right about that. Sora wouldn't know how to explain it to her aside from it's a bunch of coloured blocks of space energy that are pieced together.]

why? well, in my neck of the woods there's a lot of worlds that need help because they're being attacked by these creatures called Heartless. they're made of darkness and it can be a real problem when they start piling up. me and my friends go around trying to take them out. and help some worlds along the way.

[ Really, this is for the best. Gummi technology would just frustrate Zelda to no end with its complete disregard for logic. ]

[ She jots down a couple more notes next to his name. That they're made out of "darkness" sticks out at her. On the surface, that seems nonsensical; darkness is simply an absence of light, not a tangible form of matter. But "darkness" in the more metaphysical sense, as a sort of evil magic, would be very similar to what makes up Calamity Ganon. ]

I suppose you've not been as far as Hyrule before. I've never heard of anything called a "Heartless." What sort of problems do they cause?

[Sora tilts his head at the note and tries his best to answer this one.]

i've never been to a place called hyrule before, nope!

but the Heartless are kind of the sort of bad news that you don't know what they're gonna do. they could attack or group up. or try to mess with things and break stuff. but the biggest thing they do is they try and steal hearts.

i haven't seen any of them in this world so far. so that's a good thing.

We have a number of monsters in Hyrule, but none that steal hearts. Not necessarily, at least. Do you mean that literally or figuratively? Some monsters consume their victims, but I don't believe they do it just for the heart.

[ She's also tempted to ask if he enters hearts to fight these Heartless. This conversation is sounding similar to another one she's having that requires her to use small words. ]

[Oh she might be talking to someone who has a very similar experience to what Sora's gone through!]

uhhh yes and no! where im from a heart is more like the piece of you that makes you, you! if you lose it that means you just because a piece of the darkness of whatever is left behind.

someone told me once that its what most people would call a soul?
