[ Since her arrival, Zelda has learned two very important things. One, these journals are not private at all and should not be treated as traditional diaries. And, two, it sounds like a not insignificant number of residents in Songerein have experienced travel to other worlds before. It would be to her benefit to learn everything she can from them. ]

To the residents of Songerein,

I understand, from reliable sources, [ Read: herself ] that many among our number have experienced this world reality matter of traveling to a different plane of existence before now.

If those of you who have done so would be so kind as to share any pertinent information with those who are new to this endeavor, it will be most appreciated.

[ What counts as "pertinent information?" Zelda doesn't exactly know herself. Hopefully everyone's advice will be more helpful than her request. ]

Why should I? Most people are dishonest, any I'd expect anyone or anything that could pull off a trick like this to be the same.
Even if it turns out they aren't, doesn't hurt to be cautious. Rather be careful and wrong than stupid and dead.

You are right that it's best to be cautious of the unknown, but I don't entirely agree with your reasoning that any being with great power would abuse others with it.

I've yet to see otherwise. Wouldn't hate being proven wrong, but I'm not one for hope or optimism.

If this place proves itself otherwise, then fine. Until then, best to assume everything is out to get your ass.

What sort of place was it that you came from before you arrived here?

[Unfortunately, it's a whole lot of both.]

May as well have been a prison. Everyone there was made a servant, they stripped away anything that made us different and our bodies changed against our will.

Not my idea of a good time.

Were you also imprisoned in the Containment Zone by the Technicians?

Doesn't sound familiar. The people there just called it the Castle in the Thorns.
Fucked up place full of fae that never gave a straight answer about anything.

[ Zelda crosses out where she had been writing Kainé's name on the page in her journal about the Containment Zone. Instead, she flips to a new page and puts "Castle in the Thorns" at the top. ]

Full of fae? Like the ones in this world?

The ones here are little. These ones called themselves fae lords.
Thought pretty goddamn highly of themselves. There were also fae creatures out past the castle grounds. So far, things here have been pretty tame, but I don't expect it to stay that way.

Why did the fae who held you prisoner in the castle decide to torment you? Did they have a goal, some reason for kidnapping and imprisoning people from different worlds?

Don't think they saw it as tormenting so much as making us work our asses off for them.
Don't know what their end goal was. They didn't feel like sharing that. Maybe they didn't even really know.
Either way, it was a fucking nightmare.
