[ Since her arrival, Zelda has learned two very important things. One, these journals are not private at all and should not be treated as traditional diaries. And, two, it sounds like a not insignificant number of residents in Songerein have experienced travel to other worlds before. It would be to her benefit to learn everything she can from them. ]

To the residents of Songerein,

I understand, from reliable sources, [ Read: herself ] that many among our number have experienced this world reality matter of traveling to a different plane of existence before now.

If those of you who have done so would be so kind as to share any pertinent information with those who are new to this endeavor, it will be most appreciated.

[ What counts as "pertinent information?" Zelda doesn't exactly know herself. Hopefully everyone's advice will be more helpful than her request. ]

[ It may have been a joke, but "not being able to pack a change of clothes" definitely resonates with Zelda. Her blood- and dirt-stained ritual dress isn't going to cut it. ]

[ Alvin will see parts of his explanation get marked up as Zelda steadily reads through it. Some words or phrases are underlined, others are starred, and few are circled ("network," "fairies," and "exploring"). Ever the diligent student, Zelda isn't going to risk missing any of this valuable information. ]

So, as you are experienced in "roughing it out," do you have any advice about acquiring new clothes? Or even fabric and thread. I can make them myself, even without patterns.

I've never had to make new clothes from scratch, so you're already ahead of me there. But for fabric, since this place is pretty empty without any stores, can probably just check and see if there are any clothes literally lying around. If you want to make it, fabrics from curtains or sheets could do.

That does beg the question of what we can do in the future... Even if there are tailors and seamstresses, they'd eventually need thread and other materials. Wonder if we can dream things up.

[ Zelda would rather not steal clothes, even though their owners don't seem to be around anymore. But she also doesn't particularly like the idea of making clothes out of curtains or bedsheets. Curtains would chaff against the skin and bedsheets would tear too easily. What a conundrum. ]

Dream things up? As in, just imagining clothes and making them appear?

Don't take it too seriously, haha. It might not actually be possible, but with the whole dream world thing, you'd think you'd be able to.

That's a fair point. Have you tried dreaming something up yet?

I've tried it a few times, but haven't managed anything yet. Of course I'm still getting used to this whole dream thing to begin with and not making my walls crack or change color because of my mood.

That's quite concerning. Are you typically an overly-emotional person? You may want to control that.

[ Zelda hasn't suffered too many ill effects from the emotion magic in this world, unless you consider all of the raspberry jam-esque Malice she finds gooping around her tree-home. She's intentionally not thinking about it. ]

Nah, not really. I'm actually pretty good at controlling my emotions, but I guess this place is just too sensitive to me or something.
