It's been a couple months now, so i've gotta ask...

Does anybody here actually understand how this dreamotion stuff works?! I tried watching people, I tried asking the locals about it, I tried doing it myself, and it's not making any frickin sense! it's like magic right? so maybe i'm just no good for it, my people aren't exactly known for their skill with astral artes.

Unless somebody can actually teach me maybe I should just give up. It's not like I actually need this stuff, right?

You don't need it, no. But it's useful to have in a place like this, so you might as well learn it.

If it's anything like what I've tried before, your previous affinity for magicks won't apply. If you try to approach it like normal, though, the only thing you're going to end up with is a headache. [ Granted, you'll probably end up with a headache if you do end up nailing it, too. Merisia sure did. ]

Then how the hell am I supposed to approach it? It's nothing like strength training. At least that's straightforward. But this? I don't get this stuff at all.

Dreamotion isn't something you get. It's more like something you feel.

Of course you don't get it. The whole damn thing is nebulous at best when you've never used it before.

Try picking an emotion and sticking with that. And don't do anything fancy unless you want it to blow up in your face.

[Just blast something in the face with happy. Yeah, sure, that sounds reasonable.]

So just pick an emotion and keep at it huh.

It's good for more than just attacking people, you know.

[ Although...Merisia won't deny how satisfying it is to, quite literally, take her anger out on a giant hornet after it ruined her hood. Having Cayenne is just as handy as having an exploding staff, though. ]

Yeah, something like that. I started off with anger, but you might have better luck with something else. Just don't get carried away and try to do something explosive when you can't even grasp the basics yet.

Just don't expect any miracles on day one. It took me several moons to finally get something simple working. Maybe you'll be luckier.
