Hello everyone, My name is Jude Mathis. I’m writing today to ask for everyone’s input and help in setting up a communal clinic. My hope is that we can create a solid network of medical support and reference material to help the entire community through our time together here, regardless of our personal abilities and circumstances. Songerein is very different from what most of us were used to, adjusting can understandably be difficult. People can still get hurt, however, and there are dangers unique to this world that we still don’t know how to handle. I think we can work on addressing that with a proper clinic established in Reverein, and to that end, I’ve organized the following outline: CLINIC GOALS • Provide prompt and adequate medical services to everyone• Schedule check-up for any health concerns • Find a healer/doctor for emergency situations • Contact one for expeditions/combat-oriented Dream Board missions • Research and develop treatment against Songerein-specific afflictions • Study and practice of dreamotion for medical applications • Explore and share alternative methods of health care, including through resources unique to this world• Discovery and growth of plants with medicinal properties • Experiment with animal and mineral substances to similar effects I believe making it communal is the soundest choice, because people can vanish from Songerein just as suddenly as they find themselves here. We can’t guarantee our continued presence in this world, so anything useful we learn or create should be well recorded. That way, the important information and procedures can be referenced by anyone after, even if the person who made the discovery is no longer around. The general idea laid out, the personnel here so far consists of Dr. Yujin Mikotoba and myself. My focus is on dreamotion and magical healing, Dr. Mikotoba is experienced in traditional methods of diagnosis and treatment. We’d be glad to have volunteers who are willing to help in any way, we’re also open to feedback on how we can better the clinic and its services to better assist everyone. The location is public for future use/reference, it has no fancy name because Jude and Yujin ~~are boring~~ didn't figure it was needed. "Reverein Communal Clinic" is plenty functional o7))

[There are a plethora of uses for having this kind of establishment available and he's not simply thinking it because he knows in his line of work, getting injured is a part of the job. Although that is mainly the source of his appreciation.]

I don't have any medical experience really, except in gathering ingredients for healing salves and what not, but I think there's more than a few of us here that'll make good use of medical care.

[Clinics have already begun popping up here and there around Reverin, with the latest expansion the town has seen as it is ever growing from... supposedly, the dreamotion generated by its inhabitants. Those are run by Songerein natives, however, and aren't as... ambitious as what Jude is hoping to do, that's for sure.]

Gathering ingredients to make medicine is important too, ideally everyone should pack some healing items on them before heading out to the Wildlands. Thank you for your support, would you have suggestions for what more we could maybe do?

Ideal, but I'm not sure everyone does that.

Maybe for those who are the more combative types, developing a package for travel and have that available for those who may need it. Not everyone may know what goes into a healing kit. I'd be willing to help with that, too.

Maybe we should put up reminder signs by the main town entrances, after we secure a steady supply and means of production for healing items. The local apothecary already brews healing potions, but their stock may not be enough if everyone starts actively going. We should also account for emergency situations. That's a good idea. What more would you list, healing potions aside?

A reminder sign would be useful. Probably have some notices put up around different areas of the town, too.

In the kit, there should be the healing potions, bandaging, salves for burns, maybe other things like that. If a healing potion doesn't work for everything, maybe there's a way we can make use of someone with restorative magic and find a method to package that up.

General ailment treatment, duly noted. There was medicine back in my world that could universally treat different status ailments, but I'm not sure if something like that would work here in Songerein. It could be worth looking into though, trying to replicate healing items from other people's home worlds. We just need to find the ingredients, which isn't impossible given the very nature of this world.

That was my thought as well. What works in one world might not work the same way here, so it'd be a good idea to have a variety. There's no telling that our bodies are the same here as they are in our respective homes, which was why I suggested magic. I don't know much about magical healing, but it seems like that plays into things here a lot.

Magic also differs from world to world, and traditional methods of treatment may be safest if we want to avoid potential complication. Nevertheless, magical means are much more convenient, and dreamotion is a power unique to Songerein that should be safe for everyone. Packaging healing dreamotion into a portable form is an interesting idea, and you don't need in-depth knowledge or practical experience to form an imaginary concept. How would you like for that to work, if it was made possible?

I'm not a technically savvy guy and the world I came from wasn't exactly far along in advancement either.

[Mostly because the world he's from is... Well. Kind of dystopic. But that's to be expected when a sickness sweeps across nations and there's a sun that never sets.]

The only magic I had access to came from a book. It's not something I think others would find practical here. Not sure if magic could be imbued into something else people use. Maybe imbue the bandaging with that. I don't exactly know how magic works here yet. I know a little, but not of the medical kind.

[Well, advancement is relative, especially when Songerein itself is kind of basic too. With dreamotion in the picture, however...

Nier's mention about his home world does have him wonder. Jude's spoken to young Nier about his sick sister before, they've communicated over the journals about it to be exact. It's from recognizing that this handwriting is different on top of young Nier's recent announcement that he could intuit this being the older version, and... Curious as it may be, it's not really his business, so.]

Anything you can imagine or wish was a convenience that's real can potentially be made to happen, that's the nature of Songerein. Dreamotion is an amazingly versatile power, it could replicate the sort of magic you were used to back in your world and create something out of seemingly nothing entirely. The latter's too much for me too, but I've seen someone make a cake with it just like that in front of me. We may not be able to realize every request, but it doesn't hurt to brainstorm ideas. Enchanting the bandages is a good one, we could give it a try.

That's what they say. I'm kind of a sceptical guy. Hard for me to believe that I can imagine it and make it happen. It's a little too good to be true, if you ask me. Even if it is true, which I'm not doubting here based on what I've seen so far, my denial of it is probably what's holding that back. Heavy thinking isn't really my forte either.

I'm just a mercenary where I come from, so I'm best running errands for the folks who need it. I'm frankly surprised I was able to offer you any helpful input at all.

Me too, and it's probably why the dreamotions I've learned are all based after artes I already know. It still wouldn't hurt to hear every idea and give them a try no matter how impossible they sound, any suggestion can lead to experiment and research that could produce surprising results. Can you think of anything else?

I think I've given you the ideas that came to mind immediately. I guess if there was situation where magic or dreamotion wasn't working, maybe something for patching up injuries. For the graphic ones, maybe thread? Needle?

[There's nothing wrong with making flowers bloom, though! Plus if it implies he can hasten flora growth or lead up to that sort of power with practice, then that could honestly be super handy when it comes to growing medicinal plants. Think big!]

While those would be handy tools for a practised medic, someone with no training may not know how to treat a severe wound by themselves. An instruction booklet with illustrated examples could help with that, we can also include other general first aid tips too. Would that be enough to make it usable by anyone?

An instruction booklet would be useful. I'd know how to use them, but I've spent my time out surviving off the land. Not everyone does that. I think having an collection of examples would be important. Someone will find them useful. Anyone who doesn't know how to do it already, anyway.

Better be safe than sorry, as they say. Thank you, Nier. This has been very helpful, and I think it should be enough to get us started. We'll let everyone know once we have some kits assembled for trial.
