Hello everyone,

My name is Jude Mathis. I’m writing today to ask for everyone’s input and help in setting up a communal clinic. My hope is that we can create a solid network of medical support and reference material to help the entire community through our time together here, regardless of our personal abilities and circumstances. Songerein is very different from what most of us were used to, adjusting can understandably be difficult. People can still get hurt, however, and there are dangers unique to this world that we still don’t know how to handle. I think we can work on addressing that with a proper clinic established in Reverein, and to that end, I’ve organized the following outline:

CLINIC GOALS
• Provide prompt and adequate medical services to everyone

• Schedule check-up for any health concerns
• Find a healer/doctor for emergency situations
• Contact one for expeditions/combat-oriented Dream Board missions

• Research and develop treatment against Songerein-specific afflictions

• Study and practice of dreamotion for medical applications
• Explore and share alternative methods of health care, including through resources unique to this world

• Discovery and growth of plants with medicinal properties
• Experiment with animal and mineral substances to similar effects

I believe making it communal is the soundest choice, because people can vanish from Songerein just as suddenly as they find themselves here. We can’t guarantee our continued presence in this world, so anything useful we learn or create should be well recorded. That way, the important information and procedures can be referenced by anyone after, even if the person who made the discovery is no longer around.

The general idea laid out, the personnel here so far consists of Dr. Yujin Mikotoba and myself. My focus is on dreamotion and magical healing, Dr. Mikotoba is experienced in traditional methods of diagnosis and treatment. We’d be glad to have volunteers who are willing to help in any way, we’re also open to feedback on how we can better the clinic and its services to better assist everyone. For in-person consultation, the building we've settled in is at the north of the plaza by the riverside, between the residential and market districts.

The location is public for future use/reference, it has no fancy name because Jude and Yujin are boring didn't figure it was needed. "Reverein Communal Clinic" is plenty functional o7))

[ She'd heard the name Baba Yaga from 76, too. There was definitely a lot going on and she's getting the impression that she should be glad she missed it. ]

No. Actually, it was someone I know named Eustace.

We found a pie together over Christmas, you see. In Whoville. [ Yeah, that dreamshift. ] He was very cross with me when I tried it without warning him first. [ YOLO. ]

Eustace and Nier talked about finding a moon cake from the Halloween dreamshift too, left behind by the Eraser dubbed the Mutton Man after managing to defeat him in combat. This is starting to sound like a pattern, you ate the pie during Christmas? What happened then?

[Jude is mildly Concerned, but with how casually Susato seems to be writing out the events, she isn't too bothered herself, for better or worse...? He shouldn't judge before getting the facts anyway, and somehow can't help but imagine immediately Leia doing the same if they were to happen upon a random pie out of the blue. Girls...]

Ah. He never told me about the Mutton Man, but I suppose I was lucky in this case. The pie ended up powering up my dreamotion abilities for a brief time. After we deemed it was safe, Eustace tried some too.

Listen, it was a dreamscape, okay? What's the worst that could happen--she wakes up? (Don't answer that.) ]

It's a relief to learn that the effect was positive, but I can understand the concern, too. We don't know what could have happened, but we'd never find out either if someone doesn't give it a try somehow. Were you that curious, miss Susato?

[As much as he can't say he approves, he's a Scientist, he gets being curious. Trial and error and all that, especially in a place as unbound by 'Impossibility' as Songerein. Just... Hm. Maybe...?]

[ WELL. She certainly wasn't expecting to be judged for this decision some weeks after the fact, but it's her own fault, really. Her and her big mouth... quill? ]

I believe my thought at the time was that it was the fastest, most efficient way. Even testing the pie's contents in a laboratory would have taken time, and the streets of Whoville seemed distinctly lacking.

[ Not just in laboratories, but of...joy... in general. ]

What if you could detect whether the food is safe to eat or not through dreamotion? You do work with food a lot on a daily basis, and dreamotion can theoretically make anything possible as long as we can imagine a way to apply it.

[But ok look he was going somewhere with this, not JUST mildly sideeyeing her for eating mysterious food just because she could! ...Granted, now that the idea's occurred to him, he's not too sure himself HOW to make it happen. But it could be constructive, maybe?]

I... I had never considered that.

But I'm sure such a technique would take me forever to perfect. Perhaps next dreamshift... [ Or like, five dreamshifts from now--

Ether way, if they could not tell Eustace, that would be great. ]

[wait what since when has there been a rule about doctors and scientists not allowed to be creative... Isn't thinking OUTSIDE the box basically a prerequisite for making breakthroughs??]

You wouldn't know unless you try. Component analysis can get complicated though, maybe overwriting the qualities of dreamshift and dreamscape food to traits of your choosing would be easier? There must be something you could try doing.

[ That's a fair point...... still, she would probably normally associate that kind of creativity with the arts. Theater. Regardless, she's still keeping these ideas in mind. ]

You mean, literally changing its flavour? Interesting... though if I had successfully done that with the pie, there is no telling whether it would have retained its dreamotion boosting effects.
