S'mores! And a Request

Subject: S'mores! And a Request
Hello, everyone!
Since there are so many new dreamwalkers who've just arrived, I thought it might be nice to encourage everyone to get together and meet! There is a communal firepit in a clearing just outside of the residential area where I've got a fire going, and I have plenty of supplies to make "s'mores," which I only just learned about recently. (Thank you, Miss Tifa!) If you haven't had this before, please come and try it, it's delicious!
Additionally, I have a request for everyone to please keep an eye out for a few individuals... I realize that this may be in vain since their names did not appear in the directory, but just in case...
[ Ori why are you always surrounded by tall people ]
If at any point in the future you come across anybody who seems to fit these descriptions, please let me know!
(( ooc: Naturally open to these moving into or starting as an action thread! Come get s'mores! Or not. I can't tell you what to do. ))

Colin
He is a tall, half-elven man with long, dark hair. He is very charismatic and funny and likely to be found busking with his lute somewhere or telling stories!
Aerie
Also tall, but fully an elf, very pretty and intelligent, also with dark hair (but not related to Colin!). She usually has three wolves with her. Extremely competent hunter!
Mellon
Also tall, also fully an elf, he usually does not wear a shirt. He loves to drink and might try to clear out any supply of alcohol... Please do not get into a tavern brawl with him.
Dae
Also tall, and also fully an elf, with white hair and red eyes. He is very good at magic and possibly would want to spar with you! Would likely have an owl familiar with him.
Cibark
Even taller and very very strong! He is a half-orc with green skin and usually wears armor and wields large weapons. He has a very dashing and heroic aura about him!
Sian
Not tall! They usually wear a cloak and a mask. Usually quiet but very sassy. They might be flying around, but they also don't usually remember that they can do that.

[Hilda can never resist a good party.]
Quick question: what's a s'more?
no subject
It's a sweet treat that you make by roasting a marshmallow on fire until it becomes warm and gooey, and then you sandwich it in between chocolate and sweet crackers! Miss Tifa showed me how to make them sometime ago so I thought it might be nice to share it with everyone.

SIGN. ME. UP.
You said you're already at the fire pit, right?

I'll see you soon, Ori. ♥
[True to her word, Hilda is at the fire pit with a thermos and a couple of cups within the hour. She waves broadly as she approaches.]
Hi there! Hope you don't mind me bringing some tea. I figured it's just cold enough outside that a warm drink would be really nice to have.
no subject
Oh, thank you so much, Hilda! Tea sounds perfect.
[ She is, in fact, starting to get a little cold, so this is doubly perfect... ]
no subject
[Among other things, of course.
Hilda takes the seat next to Ori's, warming her hands on the fire for a few moments as she settles in before she starts working on serving out their tea.]
Have you had many takers to your offer to hang out? This is a really kind idea, encouraging community building and all that.
[She pours and hands Ori her tea first, then does the same for herself.]
Reminds me of something my house leader back home would do, actually.
no subject
A decent number of people, actually...! I thought that people might not want to come out since it gets chilly at night, but I'll just be glad if it helps some of the newcomers feel less alone...
[ Graciously, she accepts the offered tea with a nod and holds it carefully in her hands, drawing in a deep breath to take in the aroma of the tea before she looks back at Hilda with a sidelong glance. ]
Your house leader, hm? What were they like?
no subject
Really? That's great! Everyone just couldn't resist the call of sharing s'mores with a cute girl like you~.
[Platonic flirting is part of being friends with Hilda. Hope that's cool, Ori.]
My house leader is named Claude von Riegan, and honestly? He's one of the least genuine people I've ever met. Definitely the kind of guy who's really nice on the surface, but is always thinking and evaluating and sizing you up. [She says this entirely without judgement. It's just who he is, and game respects game in that regard.] But he's one of my best friends, and he's very big on social gatherings and letting a bit loose and all that, much more than your average Fódlan noble.
[Because he's from Almyra, where feasts and large-scale celebrations with looser social restrictions are the norm. But Hilda doesn't know that. Given her unfavorable attitude toward Fódlan's eastern neighbor, that's for the best for now.]
I can imagine him being all "Hey, we should get to know each other better and have a s'mores party."
no subject
In any case, Ori listens dutifully as Hilda tells her about her house leader. She thinks that Claude von Riegan very much sounds like the name of someone who would have the role of a house leader. At this point, she's really unsure of what to make of nobility, given the people of noble standing that she's met bot here and where she had come from - but this Claude person is Hilda's best friend, so clearly he must be a good person. ]
Oh, is that so? Well, if here we here... I would hope that this little gathering would be up to his standards, haha...
no subject
[She grins widely, although after a few moments her expression turns a bit wistful.]
I miss him. I miss everyone back in Fódlan. I even miss the incessant letters from my brother, if you'll believe it. Hard to believe I've been here for half a year now...
Don't get me wrong--there's a lot here that I really love, and I've met some great people. But missing home is pretty normal, I think.
no subject
So she smiles as she listens to Hilda, taking a sip of her tea here and there as she does. Drinking tea around a fire with a friend does remind her, too, of her own friends, the people who she hasn't seen for some time. ]
I know how you feel. This place is really so special, but sometimes I can't help but wish that I could share it with more of my friends from home. Even the bad parts...
I do think it's natural for us to miss our homes. No matter what, it still made us who we are now, right? But... I'm glad that I got to meet you here, Hilda. Truly.
no subject
I'm glad I got to meet you, too. I've made some really, really great friends like you here.
[She sips her tea and brightens up.]
If we can't bring our friends from home here, at least we can imagine what it'd be like for them if they did? Think of it as a fun thought exercise. [And a way to lighten the mood and keep things from getting too sappy.] Especially those people who would freak out. Are any of your friends the fussy type who would have a conniption fit about sleeping in a tree?
no subject
She has friends like Hilda to thank for the fact that she can think about her old friends without feeling too sad. ]
Hmmm... I'm trying to think, but I think a lot of them would be excited about this place, actually, at least after they get over the whole explanation that we get at first... And I think some of them would really like having a nice, cozy treehouse to sleep in. It beats sleeping on the forest floor or in a run-down inn.
no subject
I forgot you do all that traveling and adventuring stuff. Yeah, the treehouses would probably be a huge upgrade compared to that.
[The moment of distaste quickly passes, and she's back to smiling and thinking.]
For a lot of my friends this place would be a definite downgrade from what they're used to. There are some who'd love it because it's so close to nature, like Marianne, or wouldn't care about the conditions, like Leonie or Raphael. But for most of us? It takes some getting used to. I certainly wasn't on board when I first got here.
But I'm pretty sure that one of my classmates, Lorenz, would straight up keel over if someone told him he'd have to live in a tree. "It is not proper for a noble such as myself to live in such unrefined accommodations. I shall tell my father about this!"
[Her impression of him is not what one would call "flattering."]
no subject
Hilda's impression of her classmate draws a laugh out of Ori, who is delighted to hear about the people in her friend's life, even ones she seems to be mocking a bit. Ori has never had anything even remotely resembling an educational experience, either, so she listens dutifully. ]
Ah, it must have been a very prestigious school that you went to. I never went to any school, but it sounds like fun to make friends with your classmates and to learn things together...
[ She probably would have been such a goody-two-shoes in a school. ]
But for what it's worth, I'm glad that you managed to settle into your house even if you didn't like it at first. You've really decorated it well, too!
no subject
[What with all the bandits in Fódlan and all.
Fire Emblem games love their bandits]But school isn't everything. You have so much more freedom than I do, being able to travel with your party and all that. I'm sure it hasn't been all good times, but part of me kind of envies that.
In any case, now that the giant bugs have been pushed out I have to admit that the treehouses are nice and cozy. And of course I decorated it--this is me we're talking about.
