Subject: Sealing and Teleportation Magic

I have two inquiries to those who are familiar with magic.

RE: SEALING MAGIC
I'd like to know if anyone knows a way to cast some kind of sealing or restraining magic on an accessory or item that could be used to suppress one's own magic or curse. If need a more specific situation, an emergency case where one's powers are running out of control and needs to be contained. The ideal goal would be that it could affect nightmare energy, but that might be more difficult without further knowledge.

[He is definitely asking for specific reasons, but good thing there have been several occasions where things went wildly out of control last month that it won't seem too random.]


RE: TELEPORTATION MAGIC
Similarly, I wish to create some kind of portal that would allow me to easily traverse between my home and other locations that I currently own with potential to add on in the future. [Because it's about time he just accepts he owns these dogs and getting to the Corgi Tree and the Flowers home more instantaneously would be ideal. Though already future proofing? What could he be considering...] Ideally it would be a door with a function to change the location.

This might be a complicated request, if it's even possible, but even just information on how it might work will be appreciated.

Understandable.

Regardless, I suppose you could say that my teleportation is based on the same principles as portals: I send my shadow to wherever I want the end point to be and then warp to its location. Though even that is frightfully limited here.

So for you you require those shadows.

There are other ways to achieve the same effect, but it's the method I'm most comfortable with.

So are you asking about portals here because you're having trouble recreating a pre-existing power or adding some new tricks to your repertoire?

I only wish to make a certain "commute" easier. The Corgi Tree I look after is in the Wildlands, and while the walk isn't too long, it would be easier if I could open a door or have some kind of gateway where I could instantly travel to and from my own home.

It would also allow the dogs to come be with me if they so wish.

So more or less a one-time conjuration for personal convenience.

I wouldn't recommend having it constantly open on either end much less both simultaneously without some very careful spellcrafting. Otherwise you might as well just live out in the open in the middle of noctaere territory.

Noctaere entering is not something I considered...they're in a safe area not too far from town, but that's still something to be considered. If the other location has its own wards, would it be enough? Or would noctaere or other creatures be able to sneak in through in a different way, such as some kind of dimensional rift?

That I wouldn't know. I haven't observed them using such powers, but that could be either due to me not giving them the opportunity to use them or not having run into a breed of them that can.

However, I would suggest strengthening the wards on the target location just in case the noctaere sense an open portal and try to force their way through the wards to reach it. The dogs might not be interesting enough to attract much of their attention as a general rule, but an open portal almost surely will be.
