fourth entry ⊗ magical inquiries

Subject: Sealing and Teleportation Magic

I have two inquiries to those who are familiar with magic.

RE: SEALING MAGIC
I'd like to know if anyone knows a way to cast some kind of sealing or restraining magic on an accessory or item that could be used to suppress one's own magic or curse. If need a more specific situation, an emergency case where one's powers are running out of control and needs to be contained. The ideal goal would be that it could affect nightmare energy, but that might be more difficult without further knowledge.

[He is definitely asking for specific reasons, but good thing there have been several occasions where things went wildly out of control last month that it won't seem too random.]

RE: TELEPORTATION MAGIC
Similarly, I wish to create some kind of portal that would allow me to easily traverse between my home and other locations that I currently own with potential to add on in the future.
[Because it's about time he just accepts he owns these dogs and getting to the Corgi Tree and the Flowers home more instantaneously would be ideal. Though already future proofing? What could he be considering...] Ideally it would be a door with a function to change the location.

This might be a complicated request, if it's even possible, but even just information on how it might work will be appreciated.

[He'll get his portal door one way or another—]

Thank you.

[ The more she learns, the more complex this situation sounds. The way she sealed Calamity Ganon was simple by comparison, and even that took everything Zelda had to offer. ]

Let me see if I am understanding the situation correctly thusfar:

- The patient is effected their own magic.
- Their magic is necessary to exist in their desired state.
- They are unable to consistently control their magic.
- An overabundance of this magic causes the patient to lose control of their mind.
- Said overabundance makes the patient more susceptible to nightmare energy.

The simplest solution would be to seal the patient's magic entirely, but it sounds like that is not a viable option.

Suppressing the amount of magic inside the patient could work, but there are potential drawbacks. If they are a "wellspring" of magic, so to speak, then a seal could only contain the magic for so long. Eventually, enough magic would build up beneath the seal to rupture it. For instance, if you put a lid on a barrel but continued pumping water into it, the barrel would eventually explode from the pressure.

Of course, if only a finite amount of magic exists inside the patient, then it would not be too troublesome to seal away a portion of it.

[ Ah, a curse. That makes the pieces of this puzzle fit together more cleanly. ]

I cannot suggest what would be "best" or "easiest" without further information, but the most straightforward solutions would be to either dispel the curse or seal away the cursed magic completely.

You mentioned earlier the idea of an item that suppresses magic; I do not recommend pursuing that avenue. Accessories and trinkets can easily be broken or removed from one's body. The most sure way of ensuring the seal is maintained is by applying it directly to the patient's body.

[ He's hit on one thing Zelda hadn't thought of: the possibility that the seal could fail if the sealer were to disappear from Songerein. ]

If the patient already owns an item that suppresses their curse, then what is the problem? Is that object broken? Has it stopped working? Or are your questions in pursuit of contingency in case that object fails?

[ "This issue is also relevant to others who have approached me." Those words send an icy chill through her veins. ]

There are more among us who are in need of sealing magic?
