hey, did you guys notice the huge fruit tree that showed up near the new ocean? it's got big giant yellow star-shaped fruits growing from it that are called paopu fruit. they taste like a pineapple mixed with a pear. sounds pretty tasty, right?

there's also a legend back home about these fruits. i thought you might wanna know.

i've always liked that legend a lot. i don't know if it's true for sure but it's nice to think that if you share one with someone really special to you that you can always be a part of each other's lives. if that doesn't sound like love, i don't know what is. it might be nice to try it with someone sometime, huh? go for it!

She's always pushing herself so hard so I hope she's okay too. I really need to be strong for her. She might like to hear the story you told someday.

We have a lot of legends where I'm from. There's one legend about a Holy Grail that can grant any wish.

whoa i dunno what i would wish for if i had that i gotta think about it.

probably to be able to go home with vanitas?

yeah, it grants any wish. I've never seen the thing for myself so I don't know if it exists but I'd like to think it does.

Going home would be really nice. I bet you must be feeling homesick by now.

i guess i'm about as homesick as everyone else is, you know? i would be happy to go home! but i know it'll happen someday.

so i wouldn't mind wishing for something cool too! like a chocolate tree.

A chocolate tree sounds good. Hm, I really like cooking and there's a lot you can do with chocolate recipes. I'm thinking it might be nice to have chocolate ice cream.

You know it was really hot when I first got here. I thought I was going to melt under the heat so something cold would have been perfect for a day like that. Do you like sweets?

yeah! i think it would be so cool if chocolate grew in a tree! then you could make chocolate ice cream with it.

[Guys, chocolate literally grows on trees.]

i mean who doesn't love sweets? nothing beats an nice cold ice cream on a hot summer day. were you okay when you showed up?

Not really, no. I had a hard time when I first arrived and I nearly got myself killed.

I didn't think it would turn out quite like that. This place can be surprisingly dangerous. How about you? Are you okay?

wait why are you asking if i'm okay?! what do you mean you almost got killed?! what happened?

I fought some kind of weird monster thing.

Does that normally happen around here?

[oathkeeper]

uhhhh yeah, monsters are dreamed up or the world makes them. what did it look like??

[projections]

It was some kind of monster made out of sand.

I had some trouble with it but someone was there to help. Phantom told me how to properly use dreamotion against it so it was ok. It might just be a dream but everything feels real.

yeah it's kind of hard to tell whats a dream and whats not a dream around here. i can totally imagine fighting a big ol pile of sand. glad you had a helping hand!

if you get good enough at dreaming it's not so bad!

Only water and ice attacks worked on the damn thing.

I ended up needing to change the basic structure of my spells to make it work. It was a bit messy so I'll need more practice.

You seem good enough at dreaming.

okay, so not so bad, right? you got the hang of it in the moment? i feel like it works best in the moment. kind of like using you feelings to drive what you're doing. you got this next time!

i think i'm pretty good at dreaming. for a while i thought i dreamt up the whole ocean, but i know i'm not thaaaat good. but i can grow some weird plants now.

Weird plants? I don't even know what kind of things you could cook with that. Thinking about it just sends my thoughts into equally strange places.

Tell me more about them.

uh, when i first got here i helped with setting up the communal garden. at first we just grew stuff like tomatoes and cucumbers and stuff. but lately? i've noticed that the tomatoes and cucumbers have fused up into one super veggie! it's like a cucumber that has tomatoe insides. weird, right? i'm pretty sure it was my dreams messing with them.

Okay, yeah that's strange even for me.

You must have an active imagination to make something like that happen. Dreaming can only go so far. Even that has limits!

haha i guess so, i've had some pretty weird dreams in my life at least.

one time i dreamt about a whole forest with mushrooms so big you could bounce on them. you've never had dreams like that before?

Not at all. The kinds of dreams I have are a bit different but I suppose you could call them strange.

I dream of weapons sometimes. That's not normal, is it?

weapons? what happens in your dreams about weapons??

I feel like I get stabbed by swords and it's really painful.

It's just a nightmare so I wouldn't worry about it. Don't you get nightmares from time to time? Not all dreams are plesant.

[oathkeeper]

whoa... that's really scary.

i haven't had a nightmare like that before but i have had nightmares about drowning a lot. or being lost in darkness.

No, it's not.

I imagine you might feel like you're suffocating in those dreams.

Does it hurt? It hurts when I wake up even though I know it's not real.
