hey, did you guys notice the huge fruit tree that showed up near the new ocean? it's got big giant yellow star-shaped fruits growing from it that are called paopu fruit. they taste like a pineapple mixed with a pear. sounds pretty tasty, right?

there's also a legend back home about these fruits. i thought you might wanna know.

"If two people share one, their destinies become intertwined. They'll remain a part of each other's lives no matter what."

i've always liked that legend a lot. i don't know if it's true for sure but it's nice to think that if you share one with someone really special to you that you can always be a part of each other's lives. if that doesn't sound like love, i don't know what is. it might be nice to try it with someone sometime, huh? go for it!

Do you have to eat from the same fruit for your fates to join, or does everyone become bonded together eating the fruit, like a big huge bond tree?

great questions! i think it only works if you share the same fruit! so if you have someone you care about you should share a single one with them!

it would be kind of crazy if everyone who ate from the tree suddenly got all tied up together, right?

You say crazy, but I think it'd sound pretty fun. Though I guess that could have its downfalls. What if someone you didn't get along with ate from the same tree. Then you'd be stuck with them and be destined to fight for the rest of your life.

but hey, sharing a whole bunch of fruits with your best friends doesn't sound bad at all!

Connections really are an exciting thing, huh. Whether it's because you grew up with someone, or you had the same master. Even a yummy sounding fruit!

as for me? yeah, I've got a few. the first paopu i ever shared with someone was with my best friend kairi. after we did i felt like i could take on the whole universe because she was right there with me, you know?

connections are strong like that. even when someone's not with you, they're still supporting you from far away.

Kind of like. You know when you come back to them, no matter where you end up you'll feel like you're at home, right? I hope you're able to keep making such connections so you always have a home to come back to.

yeah! it's just like that. sometimes you're at home when you're with your best friends. it doesn't matter how far away you are or how long it's been.

[It makes Sora happy to talk about it. For a long time he used to feel so desperately sad about being separated from his friends. He walled it up inside of him. But he's better with those feelings now.]

Mmm, I do. One friend I'll never get to see again, and another I was surprised when I got to see them again. And it was like all those warm feelings came right back. Like a happy breeze swirling around or something!
