You ever just.
Lock yourself in your room for like a month and forget what time is? I mean, I guess I ate at least, and I didn't just fall asleep for a whole freakin' month like after the Medjed thing but
like
a whole. Month. Least it was fruitful.
Which uh, leads me to my actual question: who has some technology here with 'em? Phones, laptops, things that require a power source cause I think I figured out some dream crystal things, but it might require a more... ambient dream energy. Dunno how THAT is gonna be harnessed yet, but I need to know my many sleepless nights and curryless days weren't for nothing. Testing on my own stuff is fine, but knowing it's not just a fluke is even better.

...I mean, you could villain monologue it at me, but that might be kinda weird.
no subject
if I'm not what???
[Well, whatever, he'll at least try to answer the question.]
it's just like magical 3D printing. if I see a thing, I can make another one, as long as it's not too complicated.
no subject
[Well, dreams are pretty fickle, so maybe he doesn't. Ah well.]
That's... kinda cool actually. Can I see it in action?
no subject
[Are there any other Ferrans in town...? But even then, he realizes his memory is shit, so he's probably just forgetting.]
That was the plan. I do want to help if I can, no world domination involved. Just let me know where you want to meet.
no subject
[...Futaba stop being a gremlin
she can't.]I'm a little awkward around people, but trying to get over that, so: [treehouse directions here are a go] this'll be the easiest way to find me.
no subject
[As soon as he picks up some snacks. Locking yourself up for a month isn't healthy! He knows this personally.
And so, several minutes later, there will be a knock on the door. The young man behind it doesn't look much better than he did in the Featherman dream—pale, dark circles under his eyes, dark marks on the sides of his face—but he's not grinning maniacally this time, at least!]
no subject
She regards him for a moment, but eventually opens the door all the way for him with her waving shyly. Yeah, over text she's all talk but people.... people in person are a different story.]
Uhh... h-hey.
no subject
Hey, Red—
[wait what
He only halfway forms the words "why did I say that?" in his head before it comes back to him, and he puts a hand over his forehead as he tries to stave off a brief wave of dizziness. He's really getting tired of the memory garbage, but more than that...
Oh geez. There's a significantly more awkward expression on his face when he speaks again, looking at her kind of sideways from under his hand.]
Uh, hi.
no subject
H-hey, you o-okay? [she doesn't do the touchy thing well, but she does hold out a hand to him if he needs to steady himself]
I-I guess you did k-kinda remember, huh? [There's a halfhearted attempt at the pose of Featherman Red to at least maybe make him laugh.] A-and well my hair's red, s-so! B-but I'm Futaba, unless y-you wanna keep calling me 'Red'.
[Being known as Featherman Red.... that's like, the dream right there.]
no subject
I'm... fine. Uh—
[He allows himself a brief moment to rub his face and snap out of it before he moves his hand away, adjusting the strap on the bag he's brought.]
If it's all the same to you, the less I act like... that, the better. Futaba.
no subject
[Still a little messy, but not unbearable as it was before.]
I was th-thinking too, i-if you can clone things, I-I wanna see if you can clone o-one of the crystals I have.
[She's already wandering off, pulling out all of her things pertinent to why Ferran was here in the first place, but also to see his cool powers in action.]
no subject
Oh, well... the thing is...
[There's a mild frown on his face, tilting his head and shoulder in a vaguely apologetic shrug.]
I can't copy anything magic. The best I could probably do is a rock that looks the same... but I can do parts of electronics.
no subject
That's f-fine! E-even if they're just copies of a-a crystal, if it's from here...
[It wouldn't hurt to just. Test out a copy of a rock formation from here. If nothing comes of it, that's fine. That's what science is made for! To see the actual ability in action though, she's curious enough to start taking apart her laptop to see if he can't copy something from that that would still work... so he gets a choice between a motherboard and a fan with the hookups... but after the crystal, which she'll hold out to him.]
W-we can test a few th-things, if you d-don't mind! I've never s-seen anything like this, s-so I'm really curious.
no subject
[It's no surprise she'd want to see it up close herself; that's been the case with pretty much everyone he's given the opportunity. And he might as well give it his best shot, so he takes the crystal in hand and closes his eyes to concentrate, even if holding it isn't a necessary step in the process. He can certainly feel that familiar hum of energy...
Futaba won't have to wait long to see the result; with a brief red spark and crackle, a light forms in his other hand and shapes into the shape of another crystal. Once that light blinks out
in a very glittery magical girl fashion, what remains is an exact duplicate, in terms of physical properties. Ferran opens his eyes and offers the copy to her.]Here.
[... if there's any magic to it, it's very little. But maybe it can be infused with something, with enough dreamotion? Ferran still avoids using that kind of thing if he can.]
I don't know if you can tell anything about it, magic-wise, but it just feels like a rock to me. [Hm.] Maybe you should label them.
[For science.]
