You ever just.

Lock yourself in your room for like a month and forget what time is? I mean, I guess I ate at least, and I didn't just fall asleep for a whole freakin' month like after the Medjed thing but

like

a whole. Month. Least it was fruitful.

Which uh, leads me to my actual question: who has some technology here with 'em? Phones, laptops, things that require a power source cause I think I figured out some dream crystal things, but it might require a more... ambient dream energy. Dunno how THAT is gonna be harnessed yet, but I need to know my many sleepless nights and curryless days weren't for nothing. Testing on my own stuff is fine, but knowing it's not just a fluke is even better.

That's definitely something I'd love to see. Oh my God, you could be like a character from one of those old timey movies! You know, the ones who use canes and umbrellas to fly! [ The ones from musicals. Of course, she can't see Futaba wanting to burst out into song whilst flying around with a cane... ]

Yep, about six months after Ren went home, he came back for summer vacation and we all went on a really cool road trip. We did eat a TON of great food! We hit all of the major cities in Japan, but uh, we also ran into trouble along the way because of course we did. The Phantom Thieves had to come out of retirement... then again, are we ever really retired?

[ The answer is no, probably, because shit could [and will] hit the fan again, especially so now that they're here. ]

Havenwell was... uh, it was quaint. Robotic neighbors, no money so you had to like, hug and hold hands to earn money. It was really... awkward. Nice people, but super awkward. Especially when your very unaffectionate friend finds out that he can make money by holding your hand and suddenly decides to be real affectionate and thinks I'm dumb enough not to know what he's doing...

[ Granted, it was hilarious at the time, and it still is. She's never letting Seto down for that. ]

...I'm gonna stop beating around the bush, he's not my friend, he's my boyfriend but you didn't hear that from me because he gets weird when I tell people even though it's been two years.

Aw, I wish I could remember all of that! If we had to Phantom Thief it up, it must have been for a good reason. I don't think there's any Palaces here at least, Akechi's said he's tried the app and it doesn't work, so we're safe... for now. Probably.

[Her hands slam on the table and she stands quickly, amazed and very ????? over this information.]

YOU HAVE A BOYFRIEND?! But wait, why would he get WEIRD about you dating?! You're beautiful! And nice! And thoughtful! He should be proud! "Yes, my girlfriend is the BEST and PRETTIEST and you should be jealous of how WONDERFUL she is! I'm gonna hold her hand SO MUCH because she deserves it!"

Once we all return to our uh, normal selves I'll bet you'll get to experience our vacation! Despite everything, it was fun and we all got to be together, which was the most important thing. We made a few new friends along the way, and guess what? We even let an adult join us. A cop, of all things. Yeah, the whole thing was crazy -- once my phone is charged up, I'll have to re-introduce you to the EMMA app, 'cause she's still on my phone. Even if she doesn't work.

[ She. ]

Don't be silly, you're a super affectionate friend! You are to me, at least--

[ Oh, wow. Ann blinks at poor Futaba's outburst, and she can feel her cheeks heating up at both how loud it is and also, how sweet her words are, too. ]

That's so kind of you to say, but really, it's okay! It's not that he's embarrassed or anything, he's just... he has a reputation in his home world and I think he feels the need to try and keep that here. Or anywhere he's at, for whatever reason. He's not exactly uh, the sort of person I ever expected to be with.

[ Oh, lord. How to explain this-- ]

...If I didn't know him the way I know him now, and if we were all at home and he was there too? He'd be someone we'd be looking to target. Let's just put it that way. But once you get to know him he's not really like that? Er! I'm not trying to shit talk him or anything, I promise! He's actually SUPER COOL once you get to know him! And to be fair, I'm a million percent sure he never expected to end up with someone like me, either. He's a super genius and his big words really confuse me most of the time!

[LOOK, she wants Ann to have THE BEST THINGS EVER because she's been nothing but patient with her, and helped just as much as Ren and the rest did to make her feel comfortable around even just a small group. Futaba's been doing well in opening up a little more, and Ann had a big part in it... so hearing this is making her frown SO MUCH...

...but she does eventually cross her arms in a huff.]

As long as he doesn't hurt you, 'cause I'll totally get Ren to beat him up, and I'll... I'll hack something of his. [She can respect that they like each other, just not that he's not Will Smith posing at Ann every chance he gets.] I'll let it drop, I guess but if he's ever really mean to you, you tell me!

[She has no idea what she could do, but for Ann, she would do something.]

But we really made friends with a cop? [And just in normal Futaba things... just gonna let it go into everything else Ann said, because WHAT.] And 'she'? An app is a she? Now you're really gonna have to explain stuff, 'cause whaaaaaat? I don't think Ren, Sumire and me have an app called EMMA on our phones now... or was it like, right before the trip it came out?

[ It's so stupidly nice to be in the presence of an old friend again, and Futaba especially. She smiles at the other girl and giggles, her cheeks turning a faint shade of pink as she shakes her head. ]

Thanks! Aha, don't worry about me. It's true, we fight like cats and dogs sometimes, but we do love each other. We're just... polar opposites in every way. You'll... you'll see. [ And oh, what a glorious mess that'll be, probably. Because Ann's already predicting that Seto's going to be rude as fuck to her friends and then she's going to explode on him as per usual and declare 'couch time' loudly in his face, and then he'll go storming out and slam the door... good times, good times. ] I appreciate it! I'll definitely let you know, but I promise, you don't have anything to worry about!

[ Poor Futaba, the look on her face at the mention of Zenkichi is a little more than hilarious, but she nods enthusiastically. ] We did make friends with a cop! Gramps is super helpful. He's got a really cool Persona, too, and we call him Wolf. Oh! Yeah, EMMA is uh... was? Kind of [ FUCKED UP-- ] sort of maybe a phone app that went entirely wrong and was used to screw with the masses and then decided that it was a God. Once we get power to my phone, I'll show you! Honestly, we took her down so I doubt that the app even works but, y'know... it worked sorta the same as the original app we all had. That one is not on my phone, though.
