Good evening, fellow dreamers! A question again, and I promise it isn't about hot dogs being sandwiches. Which they are. Nobody saw fit to convince me otherwise.

My question involves the month known as 'November' and something about a lack of nuts that I overheard two people swearing to the other day. Can someone explain what miserly sort saw fit to ban a perfectly serviceable food item for two fortnights? I require pecan pie in this fantastic time of year, and am more than willing to bend the law in justice for the noble nut, the loyal legume!

Perhaps it's a culture thing? Please indulge me.

I hadn't heard there was some sort of nut ban this month! Must be some modern rule. Who can make it through even part of the fall without a hearty slice of pecan pie or other such delicious delicacies?

EXACTLY!! I must have pie. It's warm and comfy and just the right amount of sweet, perfect with a cup of coffee. I will throw hands on whoever instituted this ban .

Clearly there's only one reasonable solution to this issue:

We must increase the amount of foods with nuts in them for this month to counter such an unjust exclusion.

Hmmm. I do have a lot of extra peanut butter left. I'll make a dough and set it to chill for cookies before bed tonight, then. Stick it to them!

Peanut butter cookies. A bit too sweet for my tastes, but they do go well with coffee. Still, it's been ages since I had a proper one.

I think I know what you mean! I once had a peanut butter with added molasses and while it was very lovely, I couldn't have more than a spoon's worth. I wasn't aware that at some point, people started sugaring their spread. I can scarcely imagine when you add a sweet jelly on top of all that! I've started simply grinding my own with just a little salt. Peanuts are sweet on their own!

I'll bring you some of mine tomorrow.

I don't think you need to pay it any special mind. It's a moderately obscure internet joke, that's all. The sense of humor in these things is weird and esoteric at the best of times.

I suppose I've failed. Why make yourself unhappy by removing something as harmless to you as a tasty seasonal treat? I suppose abstaining from a vice for a month can be helpful in kicking a habit. But... nuts? They're easy nutrients you can enjoy in a hurry.
