Hey who’s up for a little game of Two Truths And A Lie? You write down three sentences, two of which are true and one that’s a lie. People guess which is true and what's BS. Who’s down?

I’ll start:
I have less students in my homeroom than I do fingers on my hand
I once saw a man fold himself in half six times
One of my best friends is a panda

Wait seriously?
I'll guess number two this time!

I'm probably a little less exciting than most people here, to be honest. But no, that one is true! I even know which one is closest to any point in the school!

[For some reason, she's sort of proud of this.]

You spar with him? Is that really okay to do? Aren't they endangered?
I really thought the second one could be real, though. You didn't say you saw it in person and computer graphics are getting really good these days.

[Unless they don't have movies or TV where he's from. She forgets about that sort of thing sometimes.]

I don't know if I'd call it a talent. More like the result of having to use them so often...and no, number 1 is true, too! Which means number 3 is the lie! Forget about being the captain, I don't think I could ever even make the volleyball team.

Wait, if he's not a real panda then isn't that one false, too?

No way could I be a prodigy. I'm way too average I think. Prodigies are usually super geniuses or something, right?

I mean I guess if his name is "Panda" that does technically make him "a Panda." I guess that counts?

You have a point, but I think a lot of people have a good idea of what kind of stuff they're not good at either, you know?

To be honest, I don't think there's anything that I'm really good at. Nothing I'd call a talent anyway. Just a bunch of stuff I can sort of do.

Like I can patch up a pair of pants, but I can't sew a whole outfit. Or I can bake a pie without too much trouble, but I can't make anything that's pro level.

I guess I never thought about it like that before? It's not like the stuff I can do is particularly exciting or anything.

Now that I think about it, I guess even every day stuff might be hard if you're not used to it. It's not like I was making perfect pies when I first started...

[Not that she's making perfect pies now, either, but still.]

I still think it might be nice to be able to do something a little more impressive, but I guess having every day skills is better for someone that generally does every day stuff.

That's such a hard question! I mean, I don't know if I'd say it's my favorite, but I guess I do like making apple pies. I mean, they're pretty basic and if I show up somewhere with an apple pie, chances are high that everyone will like it.

I've thought about that! It sort of feels like the kind of thing you have to be super smart to do, though. I mean, it's magic. Like, where does someone even start with that?

I don't know if it's really suspicious. Maybe it would be better if more people didn't like apples, you know. Everyone knows what happened to Snow White and she liked apples a lot.

[That was less a consequence of liking apples and more taking apples from strangers, but...it's probably a relevant, right?]

They're at least healthy. Something like "An apple a day keeps you from getting sick!" right? I wonder if it counts if the apple is in a pie?

Maybe I'll do some independent research or whatever before asking for help. You know, just so I kind of know what I'd be getting into here with all this dreamotion stuff...
ribbonbon: (Aw gee)

Maybe I'll start having a slice of apple pie every day and see if I feel any healthier. Like a science experiment or something.

[Not that she ever needed an excuse to eat sweets.]

For real? That would be great, thanks! I'll totally keep you in mind if I get anywhere with it!

Or would it be better to ask for help if I don't get anywhere with it?

Next time I make an apple pie, I can totally let you know if you want. We could split the whole thing. For educational purposes.

I think I get it. Like a different mindset makes a new perspective or something like that, right? Well, if you're really cool with it, I'll totes drop you a line once I have sort of a better idea where I'm going with it.
