At first this game seems childish but it requires a certain amount of thought to guess correctly.

Are there any benefits to winning?

[fishflakes]

Yeah, deceptively brain-teasing isn't it?

Uh, not really. Cure boredom, get to know people's weird factoids, see how good you are at sussing people out, that kind of thing.

[virtues]

Has anyone managed to win thus far? Your odds of guessing correctly are 33 percent.

It could just be luck that someone gets it right.

Well, I got a couple on my first guess, and others I completely fumbled on. The aim is to get it on your first try, but even if you are lucky, sometimes the fun is just figuring out what kinda wild stuff is true, you know?

I suppose I see the logic of that. It's unbecoming of a knight to tell lies for such trivial matters.


We swear an oath upon our blades and remain truthful.

Yeah, that's the jist of it. It's no fun if you just lie about everything.

So then you're a knight?

[virtues]

I see. Lying about everything would defeat the purpose of the game.

Of course, I am from the Crystal Knights, commander of the Thirteeth Platoon. Titles and positions hold little meaning in this world. We're all individuals from different realms.

What of yourself?

That’s pretty neat. In my world knights and stuff are things from the past, like several hundred years ago kinda thing. But they’re still pretty cool. Did you have a horse and everything?

I’m a jujutsu sorcerer. Think of it like an exorcist who gets rid of Cursed Spirits.

[virtues]

An exorcist from another realm. How very fascinating. I would like to extend the same statement to yourself.

The Crystal Knights are trained for duty and sometimes horses are not nessessary. I traverse the world with wings upon my back.

You're a special kind of sorcerer, do you know many spells and incantations?

[fishflakes]

Wait you have wings? Like, real wings?

Well, it's not really about spells. We use Cursed Energy to fuel our powers and fight against Cursed Spirits with it. For me, I have the ability to force people to do as I say without question. I guess from an outside perspective it is kind of like spells and incantations, in a way.

[virtues]

The wings are a part of my Soma and a Soma comes from the strength of one's heart. So yes, they're real.

You have a powerful ability indeed. Even a mighty warrior would struggle against such a skill. I wonder how Cursed energy differs from Nightmare energy.

[fishflakes]

So, a Soma's like. A part of your heart or something?

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if they're similar. Cursed Energy from my world is made up of negative emotions, and nightmares aren't exactly the happiest things. I've been treating them as close enough myself.

[virtues]

In some manner of speaking, yes. That makes it easy for me to understand in the simplest sense.

Maybe my power of heart isn't too different from dreamotion as well.

[fishflakes]

Sounds similar to me. You might have a pretty easy time channeling Dreamotion energy, if it's similar to something you've already got the hang of.

[virtues]

You may be right. I believe the only way to truly know is to enter a dream and find out.

We can still rely on our natural abilities in the real world but that becomes difficult to do in a dream. I hear of something similiar to nightmare corruption as well.

[fishflakes]

It's something you can definitely practice. I've gone in dreams before while I've been here, and I know that our abilities don't work as well in dreams as they do out here. So learning to balance what you already know with dreamotion magic is kind of necessary, but it'll help in the long run.

[virtues]

Better to train now than be caught in a situation where you need it but lack the skills to do so. I'll keep that in mind.

It's strange, things appear to be peaceful but there's more to it than just that.

Would you consider that to be truth or a lie?

[fishflakes]

That’s a bit tricky to say. Things aren’t always what they seem and all that. I don’t think that’s a truth or a lie, it’s just how it is, you know? I guess all you really can do is just be careful, but like. Not paranoid?

At least that’s what I think.
