[ Words that begin to appear in the journals are written slowly, as if with intent. The handwriting is... coherent at best at this slower pace, but every word is coming in gradually and seemingly with more frustration.

Guess who thinks this is just a plain ol' journal to use? ]

Dear Zackary,

I hope this letter finds you well. As I sit down to write, memories of our adventures together flood my mind. Do you remember the time we went hiking in the mountains and got lost for hours? That was quite the adventure!

I wanted to let you know that I appreciate your letters, even if they don't arrive as often as you'd like. Your words always bring a smile to my face and warmth to my heart.

I love the way you described the fish swimming with their gills - it's a beautiful metaphor for appreciating the little things in life. Your words always have a way of inspiring me.

How are you fairing? The weather around this place is certainly changing. It's been cold but I hope the cold lightens up soon.

I regret to inform you that your writing has been viewed to others because this journals we're given have a magical properly for us to communicate. Like writing a letter and sending it, but much faster.

Still, I think it was very sweet of you to try. I'm sure your friend Aerith would find it charming as well. Though, maybe it wouldn't hurt to ask her of the flowers. I think others really enjoy it when you try to converse with things they really love.

Don't worry. As it has been thoroughly addressed, I have no intention of further humiliating you regarding the nature of these journals.

Instead, in the spirit of friendship and cooperation, I will give you a recommendation to stop writing letters, because you're clearly atrocious at it. Perhaps invest in a tutor, or hire other people to do your talking for you.

Sometimes the right words are hard to find, but what matters most is the meaning they convey, I think. If this is the same person who helped you make the lilies bloom, then they're very lucky to have you. You should come by sometime! I heard there was a communal garden, and I was gonna check that out. We could make it a whole thing. c:

[ Having had a notebook of his own that he used to communicate with Lunafreya over the years, this whole using one to communicate thing isn't all that foreign to Noctis. However, his notebook back in Lucis was delivered to him via dog... which is honestly ten times better than the words just appearing like this. ]
