Apologies in advance for my ignorance, but these large ears of mine overheard discussion of a month-long celebration of the sin of Pride. Flipping through previous journal messages, I saw someone's question regarding whether or not Reverein celebrates it.

Well, that got me curious because we haven't had any variant of King Lucifer appear in quite some time. If this were the Pride Ring in Hell, I'd understand it, but I'd no idea that other worlds filled with the living celebrated the Deadly Sins!

What months are for the other six? We used to have avatars of Greed and Wrath, so they might be flattered to have their month-long celebrations should they ever return. It never hurts to get on the good side of a Deadly Sin's avatar!

'Pride' is shorthand for 'Gay Pride'. 'Gay' here being a modern colloquialism for 'homosexual'. Though as I understand it over the years it's drawn in other subcultures as well as a broader celebration of those people whose orientations or identities have, historically, been treated as immoral by ignorant dipshits who, in the way of ignorant dipshits everywhere, will take any excuse to bully or harm anyone perceived as 'different'.

Of course I am. And Pride is most definitely one of the Seven: Pride, Lust, Greed, Wrath, Sloth, Envy, and Gluttony. It's the first Ring of Hell, in fact! Or, I should say, the first Ring of the Hell I come from.

Feel better? Oh, I wasn't feeling badly at all! I was simply surprised that such a thing even existed! Particularly among the living! Typically the only celebrations of the Pride Ring are when King Lucifer declares that there be one in his own honor!

I've been seeing that it's apparently about pride in celebrating one's sexuality...

... not that I understand it very well even with that explanation. I have never liked or been that interested in that type of intimacy, so perhaps I am not the best person for celebrating such things.

A month for Sloth could be nice. Everyone can just relax and sleep instead of being so busy with exhausting tasks.

I've been seeing that as well. And I believe we're in the extreme minority on our complete disinterest in such things. Hopefully, this month will pass quickly.

Though I wonder why it isn't given its proper name: Lust Month.

Also, Pride in this case is for a marginalized group of individuals who identify as enjoying the pleasurable company of those not purely heterosexual.

Likely not but I'm sure Mammon would've enjoyed a month centered around his sin, regardless.

And I've been made aware of the whole confusing celebration. Personally, I believe it should be referred to as "Lust Month" given the subject matter, but I'm not going to argue the point and will simply ignore the festivities.

Sadly, the "pride" mentioned in this case has to do with sexuality. Which I personally believe should've been referred to as "Lust" but I'm outvoted on the matter.
