first journal entry ⚔ expedition and sparring

Subject: Expedition and potential sparring partners

Hey guys! That was a crazy feast. All that was missing was some good alcohol, but those tapirs really know how to throw a party.

Anyway, I was thinking and we don't really know much about this place or what's outside the town. Since we'll need to start heading into the forests for hunting and gathering other resources, was thinking of heading out to check it out. Plus aren't these fae things our neighbors now? Or I guess we're their new neighbors...? Can't hurt to see what's there.

There are also those redcaps we need to deal with if we want any iron. I'm not sure about anyone else, but as a swordsman I definitely have a vested interest in that.

...And maybe I want to see how tough they are, haha.




Yeah, okay, I just want to see what kind of tough monsters are out there, heh. Not that I want to make enemies out of allies, but never hurts to know what kind of threats there are, right? Who knows, we might be helping them out, too.

[No, he just wants to find the biggest and strongest thing there is and fight it.]

Speaking of, if anyone needs a sparring partner, I'm your daemon. I'm curious to see how my skills stack up against those from different worlds.

[He'll continue to take on an offensive assault, not letting up as he continues to bring down his blades for heavy strikes and quick slashes. Despite the length of his blades, he's able to control them both with ease and surprising speed.]

[Ira is on the defensive for this one, but continues to withstand the blows, trying to push back where he can. Until eventually he reaches back with his free hand and summons an Aero spell to push Rokuro back.]

[Oho, a wind spell! He's used to fighting against magic, so he brings up a blade to help deflect it as he's momentarily on the defensive.]

[With Rokuro on the defensive, it is Ira's turn to attack. He charges in, swinging the keyblade with both hands for some extra strength.]

[He doesn't particularly mind being on the defensive—if anything it'll help learn and gauge Ira's abilities better. So he just continues to move accordingly, blocking or parrying when he can, evading or jumping back if need to. He'll even try to do a few countering slashes and strikes to keep things interesting. But he's at least holding up fairly well. Not easily, of course, Ira is clearly skilled, but that just makes challenge better for him.]

[There is something about the familiar motion of sparring that brings a sense of peace to Ira. It feels like it's been a long time since he just sparred, with nothing more than friendliness behind it. The past few fights he's been had much higher stakes.]

I'm surprised you're not pushing back more.

Just testing to see how you fight, first.
